Patek Philippe 5396R wrist watches news:
Hello,My son is graduating HS this year. He is really infatuated with the Japanese style of clothing, design, etc.He really wants a Tokyo Flash watch. What is the overall quality, finish, accuracy, etc. The designs are quite creative, and interesting. He already has a binary type LED clock in his room. Please advise.Steve
Been using money clips for years.. Every time I watched the Movie Face Off staring Nicolas Cage, he plaid a drug lord who in one early scene of the movie pulls out a solid gold dragon money clip with ruby eyes and it bites down on the cash to hold it.. I was amazed.. Searched the net for years and never found anything like it.. Made a phone call to my wife's brother who works for legendary studios out in LA.. He made a phone call to the prop master for that movie and got the name of the jeweler who made the clip for the movie among other things.. Turns out after I spoke with the jeweler the clip used in the movie was gold plated and synthetic rubies for the eyes and the jaw was not spring loaded but fixed in the open position. He scanned and sent me over some sketches of the clip along with dimensions as he no longer had the original. I had a very skilled designer make the clip for me in solid gold with real 2.5 ct matching set ruby eyes each and a internal double counter spring design
Just curious if anyone here has ever seen one in action. If so where/who?Can anyone here tell me why they are so expensive?
It had to happen!I don't mind the scuffs from desk diving but I finally scratched my PO - on the polished bit too. And of all the places in the world it had to happen - it happened - believe it or not, in Vietnam, whilst I was on holidays, inside a tiny tunnel the Vietnamese guerillas created during the War.Anyone else have some funny stories on where/how they scratched their watch?Sorry - cannot upload the damn pic... so will try again soon.
So I've seen a number of threads on here about James Cameron and whether or not he wears or even owns a Deep Blue. Many have suggested he only has a sub (the one he bought after giving away his other one) that he wears. So tonight, we happened to be watching a documentary on Nat Geo about Titanic, and there was JC wearing a deep blue. The colors jumped out more on the big screen then the iPhone could capture, but it was def a deep blue. So I hope this settles the debate for a few.
