Patek Philippe 3848-1 wrist watches news:
Back in 2013, we reported on the discovery of a 19th-century timekeeping device, created by French watchmaker Louis Moinet, that may well have been the world’s very first chronograph. This year, the brand that bears that watchmaker’s name pays tribute to that milestone with the Louis Moinet Memoris, a wristwatch that positions the chronograph as the primary function and the standard timekeeping as an added complication. The Louis Moinet Memoris, released in commemoration of two anniversaries ¡ª 10 years for the Louis Moinet brand and 200 years since that early chronograph device ¡ª is described by the brand not as a watch with a chronograph but as a “chronograph-watch.” Louis Moinet partnered with the movement maestros at Concepto (as it has done since the brand’s inception) to develop the movement, Caliber LM54, which incorporates several features that aficionados associate with traditional, “noble” chronographs, including a clutch column wheel a
It seems these days, that in order to get truly noticed in this crowded watch market, the watch companies have taken the complication pact to ¡°boldly go where no one has gone before.¡±It seems that the one-upmanship of each new watch release keeps breaking the sound barrier of mechanical ¡°complications¡±: coaxial; tourbillion; moon phase; fly backs; geographic world time; minute repeater; perpetual calendars; split second chronograph; jumping hours; spitting frogs; dancing Bears; Topo Gigio. I¡¯m ready to throw in the towel and wave the white flag¡ I¡¯m finally finding these complications to be unreadable, overkill, distracting, and above all, really get in the way of what a watch is supposed to do¡tell you the time.Of course, I must take off my hat and bow down to the gods of mechanical watch design who had the vision and conceptual ability to dream these mechanical wonders up, and actually bring them to reality in a finished product. But, enough is enough already. In order to understand h
I had my AD change my Plexiglas on my datejust wean it was at service about 5 months ago.My old plexi glass got scratches on it almost each and every day. You could almost give it a scratch just by looking at it in the wrong way.But I have not got any scratches in my new plexi glass and I have done things that made me think "Ok I scratched my glass." But wean I look at it there is no scratches at all. I have still not got any scratch on this watch. And I actually did get a scratch almost every day with the other glass on.So do anyone know if Rolex have improved their plexi glasses? or if a plexi glass gets too old it becomes weaker or maybe they got some protection layer that goes away after some years?

Hello All,I have been doing research in the past couple weeks to decide on my first purchase. Personally, I¡¯m not a big fan of the iconic cyclops and I have got a relatively small wrist. That narrowed my options down to the Rolex Submariner 114060 and Tudor Heritage Black Bay Steel 79730. However, it is a difficult decision to make, and I¡¯m hoping to get some advice/ suggestions from your expertise. I have listed some of the major differences/ concerns between the two to ease the comparison. Any input is very much appreciated!DesignThe Submariner (especially this no date model) is probably one of the most classic, versatile and timeless design on the market, full of history. The laser engraved flange ring also completes the design. It¡¯s a Rolex!! No further explanation is required I guess. The Black Bay seems to be a more modern/technical design which is worth mentioning, the military style really gives it a robust, aggressive and unique appearance. On a side note, as an ¡°only watch¡±,
