Patek Philippe 5159g wrist watches news:
Well, my wish has been granted. For years I have been in search of the strap Sean wore in Goldfinger and Thunderball (pictured below) and now, thanks to Corvus, I have one. The release date was pushed back by about two months, but it was worth the wait IMO. This is a splendid strap!GoldfingerThunderballAnd here is my Corvus Real Bond RAF strap. Finally, an authentic Bond strap. Now all I need is a Submariner 14060m and the set will be complete. -Bond
Look what came in the mail today...Although a less elaborate version of the highly engraved (and extra wide) Illinois Atlantic cases, I think this one will be a real gem once it gets the TLC it deserves.I'm also curious how many of these are still floating around, since the Atlantic XL's seem to be few and far between.
Hi guy's;I'm just a Newbie in this forum and also a new owner of Orient Sporty Auto here in the Philippines. Just both the piece 3 days ago for US$240 in a well known department store. I was so impressed with the design of this piece which recalls me of Breitling and IWC. A good deal to compare it's feature with the well known swiss brand....Model: CFT00004BMechanical Movement : ORIENT caliber 46R40 Made in JapanSelf-winding movement21 jewels21600/hour vibrationsPower reserve indicatorStainless steel case and braceletInternal rotating ring with slide ruleSapphire crystal with anti-reflection coatingScrew see-through caseback with sapphire crystal, screwed-down crownStainless steel bracelet Water resistant to 100mDiameter 43.7mmThickness 12.1mmorient-watch/global/p...ft00001b.html#
As I showed in the June incomings thread I recently bought what I thought was an Endicott that appears to be an Endicott dial / movement inside a Sentinel / Secometer case. This seems to happen somewhat frequently leading me to wonder if perhaps the cases changed over time and if perhaps Hamilton actually cased Endicotts differently perhaps towards the end of their production with the start of WWII.Here's a couple of examples from my own collectionnote how the slender lugs taper. Here's some Secometers and a Sentinelnote how the lugs are a little more rounded and full. And now here's my latest acquisition with what looks like a Sentinel case. Here's also a link to a blog I found on line that discusses the Endicott. Note this watch looks like it's in the wrong case too. Makes we wonder if perhaps Hamilton provided watches to the military at the start of WWII in these cases or if there's some other non-cataloged explanation?Vintage Hamilton Wristwatches: Hamilton's Prolific "Endicott" 19
I know there are a couple folks from Minneapolis on the boards. My question to you is this; where do you get your watches serviced? Specifically, I'm going to try to get a vintage Omega back up to par. I'm not sure if there has been a similar thread, but it might be interesting to compile a list of good places to have watches serviced in major metro areas. Just a thought.
