grin like a Cheshire Cat ...Popped into Cartier's Boutique in London's Sloane Street yesterday, to drop of a Ladies Cartier for a service. The nice lady assistant, booking the job kept turning over the watch a few times ...so I said "I am sorry if it was a Rolex I can help!!" to which she said"Ahh a Rolex Man" I was gone :DBTW full service cost on the Cartier is £115 GBP
The Hamilton follks seem to have the best grasp of the "correct band to watch" factor so I thought I'd post this here.Check out this JB, it's wide at just over 13/16", but take a look: the top-shell ends fit on the outside of the lugs, so the band will fit an 11/16" watch.I have another one or two with different link patterns in JB, and one in Hadley so we'd be looking at an Elgin watch, too:The only watches I can think of that appear to use a similar attachment are the Hamilton Holden and K-420.Can anyone share any pics of watches with bands like this on them?

A recent post (I'm too lazy to see where it was posted) mentioned the shipping and packing practices of a well known TV home shopping channel. This TV shopping channel sells a certain brand in great volume and there are numerous claims of watches being recieved in a state of disrepair.Often the excuse is "damaged in shipping" and I used to see that as a "lame " excuse for poor QC.I have gotten a goodly number of shipments from this TV shopping network and ,I must admit, that their idea of adequetally packing a watch for shipment is a nightmare,No packing or protection of any kind is attempted.Just throw the watch ,in it's regular box , place that unprotected in a box that has no room for extra packing and the only protection is the pillow it is on.No bubble wrap or any other protective packaging is ther save for a few promo materials.I am sure that this shoddy packing is responsible for , at least, some of the complaints. My few other on line purchases (Amazon and SAH) have been well p
Hey everyone,I really want or I should say wanted to get an AP sports watch, but doing research they really do not make many or any durable and scratch resistant watches anymore especially in 42 or smaller (not including discontinued models). They discontinued the ceramic divers, discontinued forged carbon and currently all you can get is steel or rose gold in the 42 or less size (according to guy at the AP boutique).I just don't get why AP doesn't make a watch that is Richard Mille-like in durability, scratch resistance and shock absorption, considering how closely they work with RM.Just venting a little, but considering the popularity of RM, you would think AP would make some middle tier priced durable, light weight and scratch resistant high end sports watches in 42mm (or even 44 for that matter).I am saving for a RM 055, because their ceramic is 1400 vickers (more scratch resistant than rolex which is 1200), it's light weight, comfortable (some say most comfortable watch they have
