Patek Philippe 5002G wrist watches news:
The new Oris watch is set in a multi-piece titanium case. It has a ring of high rotating unidirectional and an inlay ceramic with scale engraved with 60 minutes. On its front, the case reveals a Sapphire Dome, with an internal treatment resistant to glare. The back is embossed with a special logo of the manta ray. To 3 oclock case has a stainless steel screw-in the Crown. It is also equipped with an automatic helium valve, placed at 10 oclock. This device enables the helium to escape the body of timekeepers in the procedure of decompression without the Sapphire popping out of the case. The quality of the model is provided up to 300 metres.
Hi folks,Can anyone guess if this watch is authentic? The rear says 5059 and the gold crescent thing under the rear window says "25 JEWELS SWISS MADE"Edit: Higher quality pictures:FrontRearThe watch face is not actually scratched, just lots of noise from the camera.
Hi all, I m new to this Forum. I have a question regarding the 324 caliber. I have noticed there is an engraved number after the number 324 on the caliber. 324 / 393. Does anyone know what it refers to? My friend's 5167A ( tropical starp) only has the 324 engraved without the 393. Does anyone know why the inconsistency from Patek? The watch was bought on 2012 last year. Any insight will be appreciated greatly. Thanks!!
About 25 years ago Jim Reese, who was at that time the only surviving inventor of the Hamilton Electric watch (he died in 1992), gave me an odd empty watch case made of clear Lucite which he had kept as a souvenir when he retired. He could not remember where it came from or why it was in the Research Lab, but it was definitely a professionally manufactured item. It is embossed "Pat. Pending" on the back, and is carefully constructed with steel sleeves to reinforce the spring bar holes, and a steel sleeve for the stem/crown. It even had specially designed spring bars. Alas, it had no movement or dial. It's been sitting in my drawer ever since. This morning I got a complete watch with the identical case from the son of retired Hamilton employee in Lancaster. His father had worked in R&D and quite obviously liked and wore the watch a lot. It's cracked all the way across the front, vertically, and one lug is broken off. The crown is corroded. But it's an identical case to what I had. I
This Saturday... ...Sorry for the belabored incoming, but I just looked back through my old threads and I see I never posted an incoming for the only other Patek I have had, my 5167. I had a super busy day at work - just got home, but I wired the funds today, I'm really looking forward to this one and it's sooo hard to contain my excitement. Thanks in advance to the great forum members and friends here at TRF (you know who you are!). Patek-Philippe-logo.jpgWill keep you posted
