How did I do? Help a new member out with your expertise.
Just got into the game of vintage watches.I realize I should probably have done more research but this Omega Automatic just caught my eye and stuck.Good or bad deal?Year's supposed to be 1952, W253734 case serial, W14K Gold Filled, case size 32mmx39mm and cal 342.Unfortunately can't take pictures of the movement as I don't have the tools to open it.Paid US$400 for it.The look of the watch definitely does the trick for me but it would be brilliant to know a bit more about it.Cheers,D

Oyster Perpetual from 1960
I did see a used 1960s Oyster Perpetual, Ref 1024. caliber 1570 for sale in Norway.The seller says this is a gold plated watch. Does Rolex make gold plated watches?Also the seller says the ref 1024 with cal 1570 is a very rare Rolex. I got a hard time believing this. So I ask you guys is it true that it is very rare?Here is some photo of the watch.Photos by: BJ?RN The strap is not the original one. Also the papers are lost.Would anyone know about how much this watch could be worth?

TripAdvisor for watches - interesting idea?
Hi Everyone, A little while back while researching vacations with the wife on TripAdvisor, it occurred to me that something similar for watches could be really useful. Specifically, a place where it would be easy to find multiple watch specific reviews left by people who have tested/owned the watch. Unfortunately, many great reviews on forums and blogs get pushed to the later pages of Google search results, and are effectively lost. Personally, reading reviews plays an important role in the 'watch research' phase before I acquire a new piece. Thought I'd post a thread here to see if others find authentic owner reviews important, or if its just me. For fun, I built a site (www dot WISReview dot com) that gives an idea of of what a TripAdvisor for watches could look like. Look forward to hearing your thoughts! Cheers,TDotWIS

New Sub or Batman
Just wanting some thoughts from the forum. I'm a new forum member and I'm trying to decide between another sub or gmt batman. I've had three subs ( two tone black, black and the Kermit) and enjoyed all three. I sold the Kermit a while back and made a great profit from original purchase and used it partially toward another investment ('17 M3) Things have settled and I'm looking between another sub or the gmt batman to which I have never owned one. Thanks to all
