Patek Philippe 5150G wrist watches news:
This is my first post in the Breitling section, but wont be my last, I usually lurk on the Omega forums and occasionaly take a peek at the Breitling forums comparing Dive watch's.Im in Bangkok overnighting before heading off for work offshore, I decided to look for some watch's. I went to Siam Center Siam Paragon and found a entire wing dedicated to luxury jewellry including watch's. I began by looking for the Omega AD but stopped off when I saw a Brietling AD. Had a look at the superocean. Beautiful watch (compared to a PO i was planning on getting. Now the Superocean is definately up there now) When I had finnished looking and handling the watch's I asked the assistant for a business card, He not only brought me a card, but stapled it to the inside of a 200 page Catalogue printed in 07. Never been treated this well considering im wearing "rig clothes" (teeshirt with a "Liquor? I dont even know her" printed accross the front of it, old shorts and joggers. My watch was my trusty beate
Picked up a few vintage watches, the first is a Bulova President from 1941. It has not been very well maintained, obviously, but, someone at least serviced the watch a few times in its life by the etchings in the back. The first time was 1945 and the last time was, I think, 1989. The watch winds very smoothly and keeps very good time. It shows marks from someone who didn't know what they were doing that tried to open the back from the side using something with two points. All in all, the watch was screaming to be saved and since Comethunter and ulackfocus weren't around it fell to me. Sorry forgot to take pictures of the movement when I had the back off. I'll take some later.
New leather strap looks mighty fine. Purchased from Watchgeko. This strap along with a couple others made it to my US address within a week. That was some fast international shipping which was free. Hope my pictures show up note sure if i did that correct. I cannot post a link because of my thread count. The strap is listed as SIMPLE HANDMADE ITALIAN LEATHER STRAP on the watchgeko site.
Back story-This AD sells a lot of watches. Has been an AD for nearly 40 years. Is the owner. This AD also attends Baselworld each year. #1. He had an amazing selection. The only really notable exception was Daytona’s. He had all explorer and sub variants as well as 2 Batman, Sea Dweller, James Cameron, etc. His sense was that Rolex was not limiting supply. He had stock so it was hard to refute his opinion. He also didn’t believe there was going to be price increases, and he did not believe watches would be upgraded with newer movement or phased out entirely. He didn’t believe there was a need to rush to buy anything. He thought this year would bring some interesting releases but would not elaborate other than he didn’t think one needed to rush a purchase for fear of missing out. He also doesn’t give huge discounts but 10% off msrp is fair for him, I was just stunned that he was willing to give a discount at all considering all the horror stories online. I
One for less!I'm done for a while.
