Patek Philippe 4910/10A wrist watches news:
I was just checking out some of the rolexes on Amazon (hey, they send me emails, I didn't say I was buying one from them).Anyway, some of the user reviews were quite interesting (including the one from someone saying pretty much don't buy a Rolex from Amazon as it could be a franken, and might not be easy to get AD service on it later on, etc). One proud owner of his Sub (not bought on the net but a long time possession) mentioned accuracy as a negative. Check out this quote:On the negative side: it has run consistently fast (about two minutes a month) since the day I bought it. Its weight is staggeringly heavy and does take some getting used to (don't try and throw a punch even playfully with a Sub on - you'll end up cutting the back of your hand as the winding crown slams into it). Now correct me if my maths is wrong, but 2 minutes per month is fast by 4 seconds per day - within COSC, and very good for any auto.If that is one of the worst things about owing a Rolex, it's a prett
From an Australian article on CSI:Witnesses in criminal trials usually claim that they saw something at a certain time, and often they have backed up the accuracy of their wrist-watch by saying that they check it against their computer clock.
Hi all,I always wanted a Speedmaster because of the amazing history of the watch. I know quite a bit about the older Speedys with the hesalite Chrystals. But the newer one with the Sapphire crystals I didn't read that much about. Now there is one for sale locally for around $3000. It has all the papers etc. It looks to be in very nice shape. Do you think that is an ok deal?Do those Chocolate Speedys have a different movement as the regular ones because of the see-through-back?What else was changed in the newer Speedys with sapphire crystal?I was always very reluctant to get a Speedmaster because of the Hesalite Crystal. All the watches I have with plastic crystals scratch like crazy, so sapphire would interest me a lot.If you have a Chocolate Speedy, how do you like it?ThanksHerbert
Here is my dilemma, should I buy a slightly used 50th anniversary Speedy or save a little money and get a yr or two old 3570.50 in better condtion?
We know the service times are long...How often do you think a customer just doesn't have the needed time available to wait the required service times? How often is a customers watch picked up by their next of kin? Was the company slogan of passing it on to the next generation tongue in cheek? Just a thought as I am half way through my service eta.
