Patek Philippe 4914G-001 wrist watches news:
Hello,I've but keeping an eye on these forums for a while since I have been looking to buy my first quality watch. I used to have a Citizen that got stolen and some digital ones in the good old 80s, but I recently fell in love with swiss watches. After reading many of the good posts and seen some excellent I decided that I wanted to join to Planet Ocean club. I've had some bad experiences buying online, so I'm looking to buy at an AD this time around.I will be traveling to the US in a week and will be making stops in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vegas. Does anyone any good places to buy the PO around those cities and possible with a good discount? The dollar currency isn't too bad right now, so I thought that it would be a good opportunity. Any help will be appreciated. I'm looking forward to join the club. :)The dane
This one turned into a project. I really like this dial, so I jumped on a listing with a blurry pictures and won it for $35, or so. Sometimes I find you get great deals with the photography is poor. In this case, not so much. The case was a mess, including a cut into the case to, I guess remove the case back. Why they would do that when the case screws off...The crystal was cracked, but at least the dial and movement were good. Fortunately, a few days later, I saw a case, dial, and crystal for my watch and I was back in business.Spent the evening swapping out the movement and doing a bit of polishing and it turned out fairly nice. The case is 10K gold filled. Here's the lume shot. I know it does not look like much, but this stuff, in person shines nicely and has a good staying power.
Hi All,I've never demagnetized a watch before so thought I'd start here to see what you all think.I purchased an inexpensive demagnetizer from eBay that I've seen others report success with. That said, I think it worked as when I run my vintage Omega Seamaster DeVille by a compass it doesn't move. That said, when I run the demagnetizer with the watch it causes the second hands to jump forward erratically...and sometimes it causes it to pause for a split second. Is this expected or normal...or could this perhaps be indicative of some other issue?
Hi all,Just got a new rubber strap with matching orange stitching for my HB-SIA Solar Impulse Speedmaster, and I think it looks great! The orange just makes the accents on the watch pop. This is one heck of a versatile watch, and with this strap it is even lighter. You can't even notice it is on your wrist.
So I bought one of these beautys for my brother last christmas. Really wanted it for myself, but I knew it was the perfect watch for him.Almost a year later I finally managed to get one of my own.A teaser pic, anyone care to guess?Shoulden`t be too hard
