Breitling Cosmonaute Limited Edition
The year was 1962. The space race was well under way, and as a supplier to civilian and military aviation, Breitling took a keen interest in this new adventure. Using the Navitimer chronograph as a base, the brand’s technicians developed the Cosmonaute, a space-going version of this instrument indicating the daily 24 hours in a single sweep of the dial. This configuration prevented confusion between midday and midnight. On May 24, 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter tested this instrument under real-life conditions during his orbital flight aboard the Aurora 7 capsule. For its 125th anniversary, Breitling is issuing a limited series of the model that became the first wrist chronograph in space. Only 1,000 of these Cosmonaute watches will be produced, all equipped with an original version of the 24-hour dial. Just got into the game of vintage watches.I realize I should probably have done more research but this Omega Automatic just caught my eye and stuck.Good or bad deal?Year's supposed to be 1952, W253734 case serial, W14K Gold Filled, case size 32mmx39mm and cal 342.Unfortunately can't take pictures of the movement as I don't have the tools to open it.Paid US$400 for it.The look of the watch definitely does the trick for me but it would be brilliant to know a bit more about it.Cheers,D

I live in Washington DC area and have been going to ad after ad for months looking for Blnr and did not want to pay elevated grey prices. Plus not find one anywhere but out of blue yesterday went to small town about hour out of dc and ad just got one in day before. I purchased it for MSRP, I asked about discounts but they would not budge so I guess lucky to get fOR MSRP. Def looks better than in person compared to Rolex website. Very impressed with look of blue, darker that pictures which is better for me. Excited today.
