- I like watches even though I have a wrist. This one doesn't overwhelm and looks very expensive.

- This is a very nice watch. It looks elegant and expensive. The band with a clasp is a bit tricky at first but it gets easier after a couple of days. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Rado 120.0281.3 wrist watches news:
I found this Lord Elgin Christmas ad from 1962 on eBay for a reasonable price (some of the prices for these ads are ridiculous) and had to have it since I'm a big fan of the 760 movement.A couple of things I take away from it are, first, the leather band looks really nice and the one piece loop seems to be the standard of the time (and not a bad idea. How many times does the second loop slip away when you try to slip the strap into it?). Second, new it was $89.50, with watches priced up to $1200!Plus, I have this particular watch.
I picked up this pocket watch at an antique store yesterday while traveling in Austin Texas. Of late I have become interested in vintage pocket watches and this looked interesting when I saw it in the store. Unfortunately, my knowledge of watches is very limitedIt is not working and the movement seems to be in rough shape. I am hoping I might be able to get it repaired when I get back home.I have been trying to find some information on this watch through google searches with no luck at all. Searching for the name "Granby" is not really coming up with much. On the movement it is stamped "gothic watch company." I am not having much luck doing searches for that either.Does anyone on the forum have any insight into what this watch is, its age, any history, is it a decent watch, or if it is american/swiss made?GranbyWatch1.jpgGranbyWatch2.jpg
I am deciding on either a Patek 5146 or AP 26470, though they are 2 different types of watch I can only get one right now. Which would you choose and why? The patek probably would hold value better vs. the AP , one is a dress watch the other casual but I think they both can be worn either way. Also do you think the newer version of the AP novelty is worth the extra money over the old version ? Other than the see thru caseback and ceramic pushers is their any other notable diffrences that make it more worth more buying over the older version ?
I did just that the other day. I went in an AD to look at and possibly buy a Rolex Yachtmaster and instead brought an Omega Planet Ocean Titanium on the Rubber Strap. Just trying on this lovely watch was enough to make me change my mind. Omega has truely excelled themselves with this beautiful watch. Every minute detail is perfect and has the best dial and Bezel I have seen on any Omega.
Manchester United & Ibrahimovic fan here!! it was quite brilliant to see that we are not the only ones who have fun with our watches. This photo was on ifuckinglovewatches Instagram and shows him wearing a Ceramic Daytona on a Rubber B band here's my wrist shot too. We share great taste mate!
