Patek Philippe 1442 wrist watches news:
Well I did it I called and purchased a new 2254 today I have to thank Fr. John for the AD advice he gave me way back when I first Joined WTF. Jim was a supper nice guy to deal with.Took everything I had to get the wife to agree to the watch but I got her to agree to an early graduation gift. That Orange Monster on a strap I wanted is just going to have to wait a few months. Should be here on Tuesday
.watchesbysjx/2015/06/...royal-oak.htmlLove the colors on this watch, though I'm not a fan of the old style pushers on the 42's. Still, that burnt gold/orange is beautiful. A real home run here.
My Omega Seamaster have this star in one of the lugs, can anyone know what this could be???
Original black Rolex dials tend to fade after decades of wear (exposure to sun). Some even crack or develop an orange/brown hue. Any thoughts on how the sunburst dials will age? Is there enough of whatever they have going on that reflects light so well to continue that brilliance even with some significant age? Any chemists out there?
Walked into my local AD and lo! The mythical Rolex rep was there. Actually, there were two of them, talking to the owner. The owner introduced me and immediately I wished I had shaved this morning. Oh, well. I asked about the shortage in some models and they said that Rolex decisions about supply are taken two years before so if there is an unforeseen increase in interest in particular models, there isn't much they can do about it immediately. Production ramp ups take more than a year after the decision is made and the decision isn't made quickly. I told them I owned an Explorer 1, brand new two weeks ago and said I bought it because it was a low-key watch that fit my personality. I said I was looking at the OP line and liked the 36mm and the 39mm sizes and colors except for the green pips on the blue dial for the 39mm. Just a little too funky for me but I try to fly under the radar generally. Nice guys with British accents (I guess people in Europe learn British English, from what I'm
