Patek Philippe 5050 wrist watches news:
I just bought a couple of Swatch automatics and they have some really cool, funky, padded leather bands. One is like running show webbing with yellow piping on the outside and untanned leather on the underside. When I wear it, no surprise, it gets darker on the inside from sweat. Which lead me to think, is it better to wash it in cool water, maybe with a mild soap, or just let it air dry and not worry about sweat stains on the inside? What about when the outside (cloth) starts to darken? Surface wash? It's so confusing. All watches are water resistant enough to survive a quick dip in the sink, but the bands? Thanks!
I have to say, I am really liking the new dial option on the RG 44.
I understand the white dialled 5980 option came last, first seen at Baselworld 2012.But what about the black dial option? It seems it came at some point in 2010 - but not at Baselworld 2010? Are there other popular launch events Patek uses? Finally, obviously this means the blue was made in largest amounts from 2006 - but I am curious just how much less black and white dial versions are out there - any guesses?
I have had 2 Panerai watches in the past... a PAM 049 and a PAM 088. I sold both watches years ago, but I have always felt there was a void in my collection since they have been gone, a void that no other watch brand, really, can fill. I am therefore seriously considering re-entering the world of the Paneristi. I am deciding between the PAM 359 and the PAM 422. I LOVE the size of the 422, and the fact that it is hand wound with the power reserve on the case back, not the dial. I just wish it had a date window. The 359 is gorgeous, has the date window, but the size of the 422 is what is really pulling at my heart strings at this time. I have tried both on, and the 422 sings to me a bit more, so I believe that's the watch I will choose. I typically buy my watches new, at an AD. I have never bought a Panerai at a Panerai boutique. Question for you all: Would the Panerai boutique offer any discount on a new watch? Should I even bother asking? Planning on making the purchase very soon, with
I just received my Tudor Heritage Chrono and it is absolutely fantastic. However, the bracelet is too long on the 6 o'clock side causing the clasp to overhang my wrist on the 12 o'clock side (pictures posted below). I took off all removable links on the 6 o'clock side but it looks like there might be a way to remove the last one connecting to the clasp. Is this possible? If so, instructions would be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks! Is this last link removable?
