I really don't see why I need any other watch. As you can see from the desk-diver marks, I pretty much wear it everywhere except in excessive heat, moisture, to bed, in the shower, etc. I say if you can't wear it out with jeans and a t-shirt, it's too gaudy (or whatever negative term you want to assign here) to be on your wrist.Elegant setting, I know!But I finally got around to using my new lens- here's my favorite (and only) watch, photographed by a Pentax K-7 + 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro. Enjoy the eye candy and feel free to ask whatever questions you like. It's posed on my background of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (phenomenal book by the way). I'm not quite sure of the "form" here, but I thought an introduction would be an idea.I'm Chris, a 45 year old civil engineer from Nottingham, UK, currently working in the piling industry in Central London. I'm moving to Canada in January 2012 on secondment.My love of watches started when I was a kid and my collection (if such a gathering can be so called) comprises about 30 watches, from a Casio to a Rolex 16660 Sea Dweller, and includes a Helson Sharkmaster, Kenzo Nautilus, Rolex Submariner Date, several vintage Seiko's and a number in the bottom of my watch box that should forever remain there!!I've been a member of TZ-UK for a few years and have decided to spread my wingsRegards

My First Rolex - wahoo!!
So after many years of watch collecting I finally joined the family. I jumped around to different Rolex models and couldn't make up my mind. In the end the deciding factor for my first one came down to two important features. It needed to be ceramic so that it wouldn't scratch easy and the glidelock feature. My wrist is 7.75 and most watches I own are either loose or tight. Very hard to have that perfect fit and be comfortable. This will not be my last Rolex. Short list below of my choices: Short list (1 will be next purchase):1. Submariner (Date/ND)- I didn't want to get a Sub because they are so common and almost clich¨¦. There is a reason though why they are so well looked upon. ND was classic and loved the symmetrical dial. Date is nice to have, but I never use it really. 2. Yachtmaster blue dial- Gorgeous watch and is my second favorite. Didn't purchase due to possibility/likelihood of scratches on bezel. I like the PCL, but hate the scratches3.
