Ulysse Nardin affirms its place on the oceans once again as an official sponsor of the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show and celebrates the superyacht exhibition¡¯s 20th anniversary with the new, limited-edition Monaco 2010 Marine Diver, to be unveiled at the show’s opening today. Created exclusively for the Monaco show which runs September 22-25 at Port Hercules, the timepiece honors Ulysse Nardin¡¯s nautical legacy in high horology. Ulysse Nardin marine chronometers have been guiding captains and their crews with precision since 1846.The Monaco 2010 Marine Diver ¨C limited to 100 pieces and individually numbered ¨C features a specially treated 45.8mm stainless-steel case. A complex vulcanization process leaves the case wearing a matte-black rubber coating, imparting a sporty look and comfortable feel. The exhibition caseback reveals a self-winding movement, and the rotor decoration proclaims the Monaco affiliation. The black strap and dial are awash with Ulysse Nardin’s signature wave pa
Consulting firm L2 Think Tank out of New York City just released a video supplement to their 2012 Watches & Jewelry report as part of their Digital IQ Index series. I don't know much about L2 yet, but their research seems to be along the same vein as that from the Digital Luxury Group (DLG) with their World Watch Report series (that I am a contributor for). Companies like L2 and DLG are primarily research and consulting firms which profit by providing advice and data to brands. They aren't involved in marketing or PR, so videos of this nature don't come with inherent bias.L2 members (likely meaning their "clients") have access to the full report, which I would rather like to see. The report seems to do two things. It first measures the "Digital IQ" of the 47 watch and jewelry brands included in the research. Next, it offers predictions and advice on digital commerce and marketing best practices as well as quantifiable predictions for the future. It is quite professional and I appre
Got a watch in for repair and I may have lost a part. The case back has various numbers such as 1860, OP 6553, PB 504315, F1110/3800. The movement is a stripped down 7750 with a modified calendar. Can someone direct me to a picture of the calendar parts.
As many regulars on here will know one of our dear friends, Ben, has an addiction problem, and has banned himself from any watch purchases in 2016 accordingly. It is therefore fair to assume that there will be about a dozen incomings queued up for January 1st onwards. So, what do we think he should do and what are the contenders?
Hi all, I¡¯m new here. I haven¡¯t had a Rolex in 5+ years and don¡¯t have any collection currently. I have been itching to get back in and prefer the DJ 2 over the new 41. Sadly so it seems SS models are in crazy demand and with this model being discontinued for some time there isn¡¯t a whole lot to come by. I have always purchased my watches from a local ¡°trusted seller¡± but never an AD. I want to keep these watches for the long haul and think the AD route may be beneficial so I am asking what you guys think regarding a discount knowing the above. DJ 2 Fluted SS black stick dial msrp $9100 - 13% discount selling $7900 shipped to my office. In the past I have only been a 20%+ strike price guy but with the current situation I know there¡¯s better out there but I haven¡¯t had any luck finding it from an AD. Heck even the 2nd market is close in price. What do you guys think and can anyone help with a better deal from an AD?P.S. I was offered 17% off on the rhodium diamond but I didn¡¯t
