Dial Question
I have a '70s era Seamaster that has very light marks on the edge of the dial where the dial meets the case (right above 12 and 1). I don't recall having these marks before the last service, but I can't be 100% certain that damage was done by the watchmaker. It could be dirt but I think the paint probably came off when the movement was removed during the service. How much does something like this lower the value of the watch?seamaster-dial.jpg

hey everyone,So it's been a LONG time since we've had a Rolex Photo contest. So I thought I'd check to see, do you all want to have one?A photo contest is only successful when the MEMBERS participate. Having a voting doesn't do much if we don't have entries to look at. So, if we had a photo contest, would you participate & submit photo's? They're lots of fun, and we've enjoyed them in the past. The winner gets bragging rights that their photo won, and the photo will be the Rolex forum masthead photo at the top of the page.Experience in photography or photo editing software is NOT needed. In face, several of the past winners were complete novices and won against some of the "pro" photographers here. So don't worry if you're photo skills aren't up there with Ansel Adams. It's all fun!So give a vote in this thread if you think you'd enter a photo (or 2 or 3). If we get enough yes's, we'll have the contest.

Came accross this in Gene Stones book, I tend to agree with hime10 watch Brands that are less expensive than they look:1) Oris2) Limes3) Longines4) Nomos5) Tissot (especially the Chronos)6)Rado7) Dubey and Schaldenbrand.8) Davosa9) Epos10 StowaI do not know them all, but the ones I go, I agree with Gene stone (with acknowledgements to)

The strap game has begun....
when i came to the dark side, i was aware that buying straps maybe a bad habit. i told myself i should not buy extra strap at one point. but on the same day i made the purchase of my first pam, i've already ordered the rubber strap and deploy buckle. and then after 2 weeks, my itch made me uncontrollably browsing through all strap vendors for a few days straight. ended up i made the first handmade strap order from Drew, Europelli. after a month of waiting, my strap finally delivered yesterday. Amazing is all i can say.it is the Antique Maduro Calfskin from 1966. compare to the oem rubber and the stainless band came with the watch, this vintage strap really brings out a whole new character of the watch. love it! i guess this is going to be my new hobby now.sorry about the big size picture, too lazy to resize them :p
