Piaget A 12 954041/ 55992 wrist watches news:
The year was 1962. The space race was well under way, and as a supplier to civilian and military aviation, Breitling took a keen interest in this new adventure. Using the Navitimer chronograph as a base, the brand’s technicians developed the Cosmonaute, a space-going version of this instrument indicating the daily 24 hours in a single sweep of the dial. This configuration prevented confusion between midday and midnight. On May 24, 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter tested this instrument under real-life conditions during his orbital flight aboard the Aurora 7 capsule. For its 125th anniversary, Breitling is issuing a limited series of the model that became the first wrist chronograph in space. Only 1,000 of these Cosmonaute watches will be produced, all equipped with an original version of the 24-hour dial. Reflecting its character as a 1960s design icon, the Cosmonaute Limited Edition is fitted exclusively with the rigid perforated Air Racer bracelet. The Cosmonaute Limited Edition
I purchased this watch on ebay fairly recently. I had fallen in love with it 9 months prior and finally gave in and bought it. I did all I could to make sure I was purchasing the real deal by the pictures provided by the seller and talking to him. I have since taken the back off myself as well as had it looked at by a professional at my local watch shop to verify its authenticity. The other point in its favor was that I figured nobody would bother making a replica this good of this watch since it isn't exactly the most commonly sought after brand or model. My only real concern was that the logo on the rotor wheel is in a different style than most Hamiltons I've seen, but from the stock pictures online I found some with this type of engraving and others with the more common kind. It does however seem to be the authentic movement for this watch and I'm assuming it was a variation by year or model or something. Input on this issue would be appreciated. I think it's a beautiful wat
I am sure everyone is tired of these threads but I need some help making a decision. I am looking for a new watch in the $2,500 range and am between a Omega Seamaster and Breitling something in the aeromarine collection colt, superocean, so steelfish. I have read all the reviews between the two that I can find but still need help being put in the right direction. I like Breitling because they are still independent (as far as I know) and I like the styling a little more (i like shiny objects). The seamaster has always been my grail watch but know that im getting close to having all the cash I am getting cold feet. I am going to the AD today that sells both and try them side by side. So from the experts that own a Breitling and maybe own Omega also would you make the same choice again and why.
I am looking at a used Tag Aquaracer Automatic ChronographThe seller is asking for $375 and I am trying to settle at $350.If I am going to buy, I will go to AD to verify if it's authentic.Should I go for it?Here's the pic from the seller
Here is my current collection. Some Invictas, few Seikos, one Zodiac, a Traser and a Gevril GV2.No Rolexes or Omegas, but that's where i am now ...
