...from a simpleton (that would be me). What is the difference between the non-date Oyster Perpetual 116000, the Date 115200, and the DateJust 116200? I can see the 116000 has an all brushed Oyster bracelet - not polished center links - and obviously no cyclops (both appealing to me) but are there any other big changes? Is the movement the same? Thanks!
The title seems ironic since I'm only 21 but I've been wanting one my entire life and I received it yesterday. I spent 4 days walking in and out of the AD and dealing with the store manager (a fellow watch enthusiast so it was a pleasure). I went to several estate shops and saw a few watches. They were in OK condition, not great. Had no papers, no box, and the person helping me did not know a single detail about the watch and frankly did not seem to believe that I was serious about the watch. It just did not feel right. The store manager of the AD however, treated me like absolute gold. He was a fellow Michigan Wolverine and attended to every single question and was extremely excited that I seemed to be knowledgeable about Rolex (althought not as much as him). He had ordered me a pre-owned no date-sub from another AD. When I arrived, the other AD had sent the wrong watch. However, I tried on the watch and absolutely fell in love, even more so then when I tried on a sub. The condition i
Does anyone know of a company that can custom manufacturer watch dials? Someone out there must be manufacturing them for the smaller boutique brands and supplying the handful of people selling mod parts for the likes of Seikos.
So the 10 year anniversary for the 5130 is 2016 which was a good run considering how short the 5110 was. The 5575 was a huge hit - in fact many of us mere mortals couldn't even get on a waiting list. So wouldn't it be fantastic for PP to pitch us a 5575 non anniversary WT for 2016? They probably cant launch a black dial as this will really hurt the 5575 resale which is already softening but maybe there is a space for a dark blue / indigo like on the 5524 or a blue like on the 6000. The 5130G -019 retailed at around GBP 29000 and the 5575 at GBP 37 740.00. So in order not to depreciate us poor new 5130 owners my guess is that they will pitch the price between the two and add an additional complication to justify the price as we all know gold has fallen through the floor but prices haven't come down for watches. So its good news for us WT lovers, we either get a new model in 2016 or the 5575 may come down to more realistic levels.
