Porsche Design 20482 wrist watches news:
For this edition of Pairs Well With we chose an iconic Max Bill hand-wound by Junghans. As one of, if not the, definitive Bauhaus watch, it is defined by its legibility and clean form. Thin black lines mark the perimeter of the watch and bring the eye outward to the minute markings and inward to hours. Nothing is fussy and nothing is unnecessary. Originally produced in the 1960's and later reintroduced, it is clearly a timeless design that has informed the look and feel of many generations of watches.? The goal of the pairing was to find articles of clothing that are similarly to the point, classic, purposeful and can be worn in both casual and work settings.Max Bill Watch with a 34mm polished steel case, 17-Jewel hand-wound movement with Incabloc protection and a tan calfskin strap. Hi,I've been looking for my first "big" watch some time now:First Big PurchaseAmong the watches mentioned in that thread I've chosen a IWC Pilot Chrono. However, I've begun to doubt among that one and a Breguet Type XX Aeronavale.I should say that I get a good discount on the Breguet, so the price difference is not that huge between those two.Since the Breguet is pretty unpopular ¨Cor at least not that common, even taking into account its prize¨C I'd like to hear your opinions about it.Moreover, I'd like to know which one would you buy and why. Thanks in advance.
GentlemenI have a 15400 blue dial which I am now seriously thinking of selling and then upgrading to a 15202. The reason being that the 15400 is simply not my daily go-to watch as I had hoped. It's slightly big and uncomfortable. I work in the office and wear a suit on my days and am looking for a timepiece that can wear on a daily basis. The choices are:1. Sell the 15400 and Upgrade to a 15202; or2. Keep 15400 and buy a Ingenieur automatic blue laureus. Some pics of my collection attached. I also include a photo of the iwc laureus. Does anyone use the 15202 as a daily office wear? Which of the two options would you go for? Any other recommendations?
I swung into my locale patek ad today to price out an aquanaut. After talking for a bit he offered a 10% discount and stated that patek makes about 39000 watches per year and about 10% of those are in stainless steel which is why the discounts are low on the steel models, he also said that they can not keep aquanaut on their shelves and have a waiting list for when one does come in. The funny part is that as I was leaving he offered me 12% off a steel aquanaut on rubber if I paid with anything other then an Amex. I showed interest and he checked his computer for inventory and informed he does not have any at any of his stores ( which is what he had told me when I originally asked) but will call me if he gets one in. Other then the salesmen bs is there any truth behind his production numbers and steel vs precious metal numbers. Just curious.
