Max Bill By Junghans Watches For 2010
The "Max Bill watch" as it is known is one of the 20th Century's most famous watch designs. Clearly conceived by designer and architect Max Bill in Switzerland, the watch was a staple of goodness back when it was originally made in the 1960s. Since then you could buy versions of the watch in its pure form as made by German Junghans (who has many of their movements made by Seiko). For 2010 Junghans offers up a more modern, but still retro version of this retro classic. There are three versions of the watches and most exciting is their more modern dimensions (save for the still small manually wound version).The Max Bill watch is what you can call "concrete Bauhaus." I think this term neatly applies to the combo of Bauhaus design with a modern touch that evokes the beginnings of modern architecture from the 1950s and 1960s. Purest form of luxury?
Having this piece of finely crafted steel on my wrist for past 2 weeks, I have the thought that Royal Oak perhaps the purest form of luxury watch with evergreen industrial design. Especially the silver dial RO.A no-nonsense tool watch from afar but intrinsically a piece of jewellery due to micro details. The design of the dial, bezel, case, bracelet and movement formed the complete package.Is it a tool watch or a sport watch? Or perhaps even a dress watch? That depends on how it’s being worn. For those of you/us with bigger/flashier AP's, what do you wear as your dress watch? I was Patek shopping today, but they look awful tiny these days. Any other favorites out there? Perhaps something a bit off the beaten path.

Post ocean swim clean up
Is there anything special that needs to be done to my GMT II after I have gone for a swim in the ocean? I saw a picture of a sub and the owner had removed the bezel to clean it after a swim in the ocean. I typically just rinse my watch under fresh water.
