- I was very disappointed in the pleather looking watch band. I know some of the reviews suggested replacing the band. I will definitely do that. The band looks nothing like the picture. It looks like cheap tan material.

I've been sitting back in listen mode for a while. I bought a few watches off members here as well. My pictures aren't quite up to the standard I see around here, but what the heck! This one gets worn a lot...Right hand scratches are from a good fall I took last winter! That one hurt Next one was my father's watch that he wore quite a bit as evidenced by all the micro scratches in the case. It looks much better in person. And one of my favorites..another well worn watch that needs the crystal polished (it's next on my list actually to be fixed). 1967 Longines 14k solid case that is very thin. It makes a great dress watch.I picked up an Invicta Prowler and a Citizen Skyhawk here on this very forum, both very nice pieces. I also have a 1930's Bulova that is in need of a full restoration as well as a 1951 Wittnauer. Searching for the right old Hamilton at the right price as well. Doing my own cleaning/oiling and hopefully getting the dials re-done in the near future. It's a fun ne

And before anyone asks, yes it is a 22mm strap that I have shoe-horned onto 20mm lugs! Many thanks in advanceMark
When I developed an interest in watches in 1985, it was clear Patek Philippe was considered the finest of the mass-production watch manufacturers. Naturally I aspired to own one some day, but began my hobby primarily collecting old Hamilton wristwatches. In October 1993, I had a windfall, winning $5,000 in a contest held by my employer. I asked my watchmaker if he knew of any Patek Philippe wristwatches for sale, and he put me in touch with someone I had previously met. Knowing his love for a Waterman filigree fountain pen I owned, I brought the seller the pen and cash. This was my first Patek, a 35mm Calatrava reference 2508 from 1955.I owned the watch for 20 years, until I finally was able to admit it no longer interested me. It was traded toward another Patek below. My next Pateks came as a pair. An acquaintance had a a reference 2591 on a gold bracelet listed for sale. I had many sport watches to trade (Omega/vintage Le Coultre/IWC chronographs) and he liked to trade. We arranged to
