Romain Jerome RJ.M.AU.IN.009.04 wrist watches news:
Montblanc combines two of the hottest case materials – DLC and red gold – to create the TimeWalker Dual Carbon Chronograph. If you don’t know, DLC stands for diamond-like carbon, and it produces an extremely corrosion-resistant coating with a hardness of 3,000 Vickers. By way of comparison, steel has a hardness of 230 Vickers. And Montblanc does not stop there. Unlike other brands using DLC, Montblanc employs a unique two-step process. In step one, the 43mm stainless steel case is hardened. A thermal treatment applied to the case surface fuses it with additional carbon atoms to increase the hardness of the exterior to as much as 1,000 Vickers. In step two, the black DLC coating is applied to the already-hardened surface. Both front and back crystals are sapphire, and the front crystal is domed with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Of course the crown incorporates an inlaid Montblanc signet. Inside the case resides an integrated automatic winding chronograph movem
Now even though Panerai describes this as 'historic' it was manufactured in 2014. Radiomir case shape, Black Seal logo on dial as well as 'Black Seal'. COSC certified with papers, and manuals. Panerai considers this historic in that it has not changed the case shape in introduced in 1938. Leather strap, dial has only 3-6-12 numerals, small seconds at 9. Indices for the remaining five minute blocks. Very clean legible dial and readable at night. It has a 45 mm diameter. Sits nicely on my wrist.Having a smaller wrist I was curious to see how it would fit. Also nice to have a Panerai boutique on the LV strip. Waterproof to 100 meters.
Hi! I have recently acquired a vvintage Gotham nurse pendent watch that hangs on a necklace . Can anyone tell is Gotham a brand name? I am tring to figure out how old the watch may be. Thank you so much
I recently acquired two PO8500s and also own a Sub C and DSSD. When comparing the PO8500 Ceramic head-to-head against the 116610LV Submariner I have observed the following with regard to the overall quality, performance and value...CASE AND CASE FINISH = TIEThe case finishing on both watches is excellent. The Omega does shine in two distinct areas. First, the sides of the case are brushed (which I love). When handling my watches, it is always the sides of the case that pick up the most fingerprints and hairline scratches. By horizontally brushing these surfaces, the Omega PO feels like a serious diving tool. Second, I really like the huge 45 degree chamfers on the case lugs, which give the watch great proportions and are also less likely to be dinged or dented if the watch is subjected to serious use/abuse. I do, however, prefer the darker gray appearance of the 904L case/bracelet as well as the pronounced crown guards of the Submariner case. The Submariner case is also quite a bit th
I am looking to buy my first Panerai and have narrowed it down to two options: PAM183 vs PAM609I'm based in HK (anyone got any recommendations for HK dealers AD and grey market?) and the prices of the two are pretty identical - I really like the look of the 183 with the cleaner, sandwich dial (I am not a fan of the 609's sausage dial) but feel like the in-house movement of the 609 makes it much more worth it for the amount of money. The power reserve of 8 days of the in-house P5000 vs the 56 hours in the ETA based Unitas movement is also a HUGE difference. I went into a Panerai boutique here and they quoted 3-5k HKD (approx. 390-645 USD) for servicing the p5000 calibre...and i've also heard of reliability/accuracy issues on this calibre, anyone can confirm? Also, How much does/did it cost to service the Panerai OP XI calibre (based off the ETA6497) and would that presumably cheaper cost justify purchasing the 183 over the 609? Does the 8 day power reserve and in-house movement trump th
