MB&F HM6 RT Watch In Red Gold
Recently, the Red Dot Design Awards for 2015 were held in Germany - and one of the big winners in the watch category was the MB&F HM6. MB&F was the only mechanical watch to earn a coveted Red Dot: Best of the Best award (the Apple Watch also won, but of course, it is not mechanical). In honor of that award, MB&F is releasing the second version of the HM6 known as the MB&F HM6 RT - which replaces the titanium case of the original MB&F Horological Machine No. 6 with one in 18k red gold. Not just any red gold, but one with palladium in it which stabilizes the copper. They call this alloy 5N+ (5N is the term for 18k red gold).What does that mean? It is basically the same concept as Rolex's Everose gold or Omega's Sedna rose gold. That means that over time, the copper is not as prone to wearing out causing the gold to turn more yellow, versus staying red gold. Need OM Help.....
Love my OM, however, the secondary clasp holes do not line up with the clasp nipples, see pic, so I called Seiko CS, they were very nice, but wanted 16.99 for the part, plus some other 7.99 + s&h + tax, then I need to pay someone to swap the clasps.......or I could ship them th OM, with a letter explaining the situation, BTW, my watch guy said that it's a factory thing, nothing that I did, and unfixable, so anyway, ship off the whole OM w/ a letter wait who knows how long, and keep my fingers crossed and hope they will fix it. I'm hoping someone here has a clasp or bracelet they would sell me, then I would have my guy swap it out, anyone have spare parts or another idea?Thanks guys!J

Tortured logic is leading me to the Platinum Daytona
I'm sure you hardened veterans have seen this a million times - a Rolex newbie trying to talk himself into doing something crazy...There is nothing rational about wanting a 116506, but here is the twisted logic I have created for myself, after going back and forth for several months now:1) The watch I spend the most $$$ on should be the one I wear the most. Therefore, a precious metal daily wearer.2) If it is going to be a daily wearer, then it has to be able to stand up to the abuse. Therefore, a sub/daytona/gmt.3) If it is going to get scratched up from daily wear, I need to be able to polish it on occasion without having to worry about wearing away the metal. Therefore, platinum. I can appreciate the patina, but then I can polish it back up and appreciate the bling every now and then. Ergo, must get Platinum Daytona. Oh yeah - and I also think it is a stunner, and I like the heft of it. And I can go back to my BLNR if I ever come to my senses.How does this sound? Am I missing anyth
