Hello,I posted a thread a couple of days ago about buying a SMP 50th LE, and I appreciated the response very much. I tried to persuade my wife, but didn't work. she insisted it is not a good decision. Last night, my brother in law came to dinner and while we were talking about my recent discussion with my wife, he showed me his left wrist, and there was an IWC Inge on his wrist. He wanted to to reconsider my descision and buy the Inge instead of the SMP. when my wife walked in, he showed her the watch, and even though she didn't say much, I can tell that her look is more friendlier. Now, my question is that, should I reconsider my descision? I never own an IWC before and I would like to know how they match up? Are they in the same league? I know if I try to persuade my wife of letting me buy the IWC, the chance of nodding her head is better than the SMP. Thanksfallot

Plumber who wants to own nice watches
Hello all, As you can see in the title I am a plumber who for some reason wants to start collecting watches. Actually I am a plumber small business owner. At this time I am still in the field, but the company is growing and the intention is to be full time Manager/Owner although that is a ways off. So for now the watch will be for off work time, unless its a business meeting where I want to show I own at least a decent watch. I would like to buy my first real watch soon and spend somewhere in the 500.00 range. As far as I have researched my eyes go to watches of the Swiss persuasion and to often the higher end with Omega, Breitling, and Rolex, but my budget dictates at this time I stay with my already established budget and work my way up to the higher end. A watch expert at a local jewler recommened Tissot as a starter in the Swiss watch world. The more I research the more questions I have. Seems the swiss watch world is bigger than I thought, and the options near endless. Ma

Need help identifing a vintage Omega
What I do know is that this watch is from the 60's, has a double chronograph (two chrono hands?). Someone told me it might be model 176.0012.Also, if anyone would know its worth - it would really mean a lot to me. (Works perfectly, with the original bracelet, day/date, etc).Thank you!

Needless to say, I am thrilled to have this baby inbound. I would like to send a huge thank you to Socal to az. I was recently in NY for the exhibition and fell in love with the blue 5905p. As much as I liked the watch, somehow the buckle on the strap seemed inconsistent with that level of watch. Then I came across the Socal post where he had ordered it with the depolyant clasp and that clinched it for me. The pictures of that strap on the watch solved the inconsistency. So, thank you again for helping contribute to my addiction.
