ok, so, i figure i would clear up some things and make a reference thread on different Chinese mechanical watch movements . if you don't know anything about Chinese watch movements see here: google/url?sa=t&rct=j...fq0xQw&cad=rjaso we will start from the most well known brand, sea-gull (love the dash in they're name) seagull ( sea-gull) has been around since 1955 and makes mechanical watch movements for there own brand watches as well as outsourcing the "factory seconds" to brands such as fossil, stuhrling, and armitron just to name a few. now just because the ones they outsource aren't the same quality they use as the ones they use in they're watches doesn't mean they are bad. some brands such as stuhrling (and i suspect android) buy those movements in bulk and inspect, regulate, and fix any problems and then use them in those watches. seagull makes automatics, manual winds, and tourbillon's and are very high quality (arguably as good as some Swiss brands. they also outsource

OT: When do y'all post on the forum?
I'm just wondering because I seem to feel that I am on forums on and off during the day.1) Morning coffee and news watching time2) Mid-morning'work break' (although my work involves researching watches)3) The lunch time, if I'm not out4) Around the slump, 4-5 PM5) If I can get a couple minutes on the computer while the lady is getting stuff situated around the house at night.6) And of course any time I want to share a watch with people who I know will appreciate it.What about you guys?

I've been looking at this watch and asking myself is it a watch that I could wear.Patek6000G.JPGIt is 37mm wide. Now O.K. it is a dress watch but it is still slightly on the small side.However that 37mm becomes smaller when one takes into account that the outer ring is the date, so the hands and the hour and minutes function is smaller, yet again, than say a regular 37mm watch.So although it is a nice watch and a $18,000 price tag is significant (white gold), I would have to say this watch is not for me on aesthetic grounds.However the movement is a piece of art.I'm not sure how water resistant this watch is, if at all, but with those expensive leather straps...well let me just say, you would take it off before washing the dishes.
