Anyone recognize this Benrus model?
Hi, guys -I see that there are a good number of Benrus fans here - and I'm fast becoming one myself - so I was hoping someone could help me ID this watch. Actually, I've found a good bit of info on the BB 4 movement, which seems to have been one of Benrus' go-to movements. What I'm really after is a way to identify the model/name of the watch itself. And, of course, to date its manufacture accurately. I really like this watch, though it just doesn't quite look right on my wrist. Guess I'm not classy enough! Arrived - The Hamilton Ross
As promised, here are some pictures of the Hamilton Ross discussed in this thread. For the pics:I was blown away - the watch was packed very carefully and looked fantastic when I pulled it out of the box. The dial is aged nicely and evenly - looks great!The case practically looks new - look at the case edges and details, they are still sharp. This watch has been well cared for.Again, look at the case - I am not sure if it is the original crown, but it looks similar to the catalog posted elsewhere in the Hamilton forum.Very nice pairing on the included strap. Movement winds, sets and runs without fault (for 12 hours at least...)Obligatory wrist shot - for a small watch, it has great presence on the wrist!This one is definitely a keeper! Only issue, I can hear the movement moving inside of the case, has me a bit nervous - any thoughts?B

New acquisition, vintage IWC cal 89 from 1950's
Just picked this one up yesterday after visiting my AD and seeing it sitting among a group of preowend watches traded in for new ones. The cal 89 is the workhorse classic calibre from Schaffhausen having been in constant production from 1946 to 1976. This is simply the most elegant RG dress watch of its generation. Hope you enjoy the photos. I asked the AD to open the case today so we can enjoy the movement in all its glory.BillNotice the excellent perlage on the inside case back.
