Alpina Startimer Classic Automatic Chrono Watch Has Very Sad Hands
WTF Alpina? Seriously, is this a joke? Does this watch suffer from hereditary dwarfism? Can you even call a 44mm wide watch a dwarf? Oh, I am sorry, I meant "little watch." No, the watch is the right size, but the hands, those sad pathetic looking hands, are shrunken at the least. Look at them looking all sad? Even the chronograph subdial hands feel bigger.I have no clue what Alpina was thinking when their designer approved the hands on this Startimer Classic Automatic Chronograph watch. More like TinyTimer. This is exactly the type of crap that pisses me off. This watch makes me want to yell obscenities. Everything else about this watch is fine if you are going for that retro chronograph watch look - but those hands, what the hell is up with those stupid tiny hands? Helium gas escape valve question
I'm wondering - if the purpose for having a helium gas escape valve is to empty all helium gas from the case, why have a separate valve when uscrewing the winding stem and pulling it out would seem to allow the helium gas to escape just as well? What am I missing?

I read somewhere that the term 'vintage' applies to a watch which is 20 yo or older. The question is, how old must a watch be to be considered an 'antique'? Where lies the threshold?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get some advise. I'm seriously considering trading or selling either my Yellow dial Emergency or my Navitimer towards a Pam 24. In your opinion, which one should I keep? Which one is more of a 'keeper' I find myself hardly wearing either watch. Look forward to the opinions of the members. I want to choose 'wisely' and don't want to regret getting rid of either watch. Hello, Can someone advise me of the maximum size bracelet that is the standard fitTed when purchasing a 5711/1A from the AD?Is there much flexibility in these. My wrist is 21.5cm or 8.5 and with my Rolex I'm looking at 13 links to be comfortable with some movement on the clasp.Thank youSimon
