Well this gave me a good waugh this afternoon...(Auction 370559055301) MEN'S VINTAGE WATCHES. ( 3). ONE IS A TIMEX, WATER RESISTANT, RUNNING, NO BAND. OTHER IS A SHEFFIELD SHOCK RESIST AND SWISS MADE, NOT SURE OF STATUS, SEEMS TO BE WOUND TOO TIGHT. THE OTHER IS A HAWILTON, WATCH IS RUNNING, BAND IS BROKEN. IT'S NOT A HAMILTON, IT IS DEFINATELY SPELLED HAWILTON.Ah - those wascaly owientals!!!!
I have seen several variations on how the date is written when you purchase the watch. Some have it as DAY/MONTH/YEAR while others are MONTH/DAY/YEAR and some where it's JUNE/DAY/YEAR.Is there a correct version? Wouldn't you need consistency with the dates across the board for warranty registration?
Hi Guys would like a bit of advice here, I have owned this Seamaster Professional since December 2000, during that time I have worn it non stop and also used it for diving both in pool and salt water at least every week as I was a dive instructor. It has been serviced regualrly and never gave me any issues, I have now decided to rest it after so much hard work and just about to put it in for service, apart from some regular marks from the odd bump the watch is in great condition, however the bezel has faded and has a few marks, would any of you guys be able to advise on either leaving it alone and keeping the used look or complete replacement bezel at the service as I understand Omega do not just repalce the insert and I really would not want to fit an aftermarket insert.
Hey Guys. Been lurking for years, but recently decided to join up and get serious.I¡¯m thinking for my first purchase, I¡¯m going pre-owned, either 16610 or 16710. Can¡¯t justify paying new retail in this bubble, with so many other obligations (kids, wife, house etc..)Question - Why have the GMT 16710 retained/grown in value? It looks like I can pick up a nice 16610 for around $6.5k but the GMT 16710 watches are all $7.5+?Thanks!
