- I just bought this for my mother today, for her birthday/mother's day gift. It is truly a very beautiful watch. I think that the picture does not do it justice. It has a lot of bling to it, so it is sophisticated. Highly recommend!

Dear Rolex-Fans, as it is the first time I attend please let me introduce myself. I¡äm from Germany (therefore please excuse my english) and since more than 30 years I¡äm collecting wrist watches. Possibly some of you know me already from the german Rolexforum or TZ, for those the following stories might be boring. Rolex was always my favourite watch, but I was also and am still interested in Omega, Breitling and all type of Chronographs. So I started 1975 with a Breitling Chrono-Matic Ref. 2110 which is still in my hands today and it is keeping perfect time after an overhaul at Breitling in Switzerland. My first Rolex came in 1979 and was a gift from my father for finishing school with the german so called ¡°Abitur¡±, which gives the right to start at University. The Rolex choosen by me was absolutely uncommon at that time: it was an Explorer II Ref. 1655/0 with an engraving on the back ¡°Abitur 1979¡±. The dealer where it was bought (Bucherer in St. Moritz) had to take firstly a look into
Finally got around to taking a family portrait. Notice that there is still room in the box for two more.
I have a 42mm ROO grey themes titanium on a bracelet. First of all I have to say that I love the watch and it looks amazing in person. That said, it's a little annoying that the minute it gets a little dim it becomes very difficult to tell the time. When you have an almost 30k watch and you have to take your phone out to tell the time it becomes a real pain.Actually thinking about trading it in for the 44mm ROO stainless and ceramic. Curious if any others have had similar issues. Thanks
Was lucky enough to be invited at the gala dinner at the Saatchi Gallery last night. It was relatively cosy with a small-ish number of people and they walked us through all the galleries and watches with a personalised explanation and a few anecdotes. The most interesting was the 4 Patek Craftsmen (and woman) working in one of the galleries. I chatted with all 4 of them in French and they were the most down to earth nice persons you could find.Just out of that, i bumped into Thierry Stern, introduced myself and started chatting in French. My interest is more cars than watches and the conversation oscillated between the two. I made a reference to Ferrari's and Aston's from the 1960's and pointed to him that all cars made in small series had their own individual specificities making each and everyone unique. And that he should aim for that individuality..Then he explained how the stone encrusting guy I had just spoken to went to school with him and they were mates rather than boss / employ
