Baselworld 2016: A Quick Look At The Slightly Overlooked Patek Philippe 5204R
The 5204R is a split seconds (rattrapante) chronograph with perpetual calendary; a combination of complications that puts it just one chiming complication away from being a bona fide grand complication watch (traditionally the term "grand complication" meant the combination of a rattrapante chronograph, a minute repeater, and a perpetual calendar). The 5204R is the red-gold version of the original, platinum 5204, which was introduced in 2012; that watch was, in turn, the successor to the reference 5004 perpetual calendar rattrapante, which was introduced in 1996 and which Patek made only in very small numbers every year (the last 50 were made in stainless steel, priced at CHF 270,000, and sold out basically immediately, as we reported here). 1 OF 6 As we've said, the great thing about the 5204R is that it's a reminder of why Patek enjoys the reputation that it does – but why does it do that? GMT or Submariner?
I did some searching but really didn't see this addressed.So here's the issue:I'll likely be purchasing a Rolex and I'm debating between the GMT and the Submariner. It will probably be SS and black dial.So, for those that have had to make the choice, what pulled you in?For me, this will be a daily wearer- more or less - as I have a few good, a better (Citizen Skyhawk AT) and one great watch (Omega AT Seamaster).I like the functionality of the GMT and I'm not a diver but I do travel some. However I want the more durable watch- if that even matters.My problem is I like them both, and from what I've read, the Sub appears to have a bit more history to it. Also, with the GMT having an "extra" hour hand, might this make the movement any less reliable? I apologize if this is an ignorant sounding post, but I thought I'd give it a try.And thanks to all that have posted great info about these two pieces already.

Submariner or Sea Dweller?
This is my first post and I'm in the market for a "durable" Rolex, one that can withstand a lot of use. I'm just really rough with all my watches and I'm not really careful about when and when not to wear my watch around.Can you guys help me by your experiences, what are the main differences betwn both of the above mentioned watches. I'm not necessarily sold on buying new, I could be happy purchasing second hand.Thanks in advance for your patience.

Does Anyone Have An All Gold Breitling
They seem exceptionally few and far between. Actually, stumbled into one at Macy's of all places. Think it was a Chronomat. Bracelet was impressive to be sure. Given the number of PM Rolex's on bracelet, was wondering if there any members that sport one. Pictures of course are welcome.
