Swatch SUUN100 wrist watches news:
Cartier has sued HauteLook, Inc. in federal court in Manhattan alleging the Los Angeles-based retailer falsely claims to offer new Cartier goods at deep discounts based on a special relationship with the brand. Cartier’s complaint states that it has no relationship with HauteLook, and that the retailer is selling secondhand Cartier watches and other goods as new. The complaint, filed August 3, states that the Hautelook website contains the claim “no secondhand merchandise, ever.” Cartier says that through its agents, it purchased 5 Cartier watches from HauteLook, and after reviewing the timepieces and information based on serial numbers, Cartier concluded that all 5 watches were “used and therefore secondhand.”Cartier claims the watches also showed scratches and evidence of poor polishing and improper repair. Hi All:I purchased a Breitling from an AD in the Netherlands and they use DHL for insured shipping. For those of you who are experienced purchasing timepieces from Europe and shipped to the US, is there anything I need to know about the Customs process? I am trying to be proactive to make surethere are minimal or no delays in receiving shipment. Thanks,Gary
Hi, Folks: I tried to post this in the technical area but was not allowed to post so I thought I would put this question here. I'm sure there are a lot of questions about what to look for in buying this or that manufacture of Pocket Watch. For myself I am musing over the idea of making a hobby of tinkering with antique watches as much as occassionally collecting the odd piece. I just got back from a quick trip to the local antique mall where things Elgin seem to hold sway. I like Illinois and Hamilton so my money stayed in my pocket. However, in one case were quite a number of "watch making tools". I wish I had written down the names of the tools for those pieces that had tags, but it wouldn't have changed my more general question. Certainly when buying tools there must be a number of points to consider just as with the watches themselves. Has anyone gone down this path and be willing to offer advice? Are tools specific to marques, or particular productions within a marque? Do the too
im looking for some information about my fathers vintage seamaster.. he has owned it for over 20years, but we think it may be much older.. i can't rememebr the exact story behind it, but he came by it in spain a long time ago.it is quartz, and has had a genuine replacement bracelet from omega in recent years (he still has the original bracelet). it displays the day in spanish as well as english.we are sure the case is solid gold, but the bracelet is plated.does anyone have any knowledge of this watch- year, current value, rarity etc..we will be offering it for sale in the near future, but know very little about the physical watch..anyone?thanks!
