Swatch GN718 wrist watches news:
1959 Aston Martin DBR1There's a lot of overlap between watch folks and Aston Martin fans. I'm an amateur with cars, but even I've seen enough of the Bond franchise to appreciate a vintage Aston Martin. This car is a DBR1/2 that won LeMans in 1959. This is the only time that Aston Martin won that race, so this car is a very big deal indeed, and sold for a staggering 20 million UKP recently. Christopher Ward paid a chunk of change for this piece of the car:Panel from the DBR1Wonder which part of the car that is? Firewall? Anyway, they have enough metal to make a special-edition watch, 100 pieces. They are apparently big Aston Martin fans at Christopher Ward, as they had previously introduced the "C70 Aston Martin DBR1" quartz chronograph that sold out and now they're doing the limited run with panel insets from the actual car, paired with a COSC-tested movement. Here's the watch:Christopher Ward C70 DBR1 chronometerBritish racing green, with definite hints of a dashboard. If you had to pick one based on craftsmanship, which would it be? From what I know, they both use Valjoux movements. I myself prefer the look of the Hamiltons, and it is difficult to justify the price difference. Opinions?
going to Vegas this weekend and I need to check out some pieces..any recommendations?THANKS everyone!
Hi all.I m considering getting another chrono {my current is an OMEGA Speedie}.I m leaning towards a TUDOR.What is a better choice.....In terms of rarity {Monte carlos aside}......I personally like those with a rotating bezel [ ref 79170 ??],and it seems they command a higher price. Is it because they were made in smaller numbers ???Or should I go for pre-TIGERS [ those with ROLEX crowns and casebacks ] ???Or should I go for a TIGER...?????Any comments is welcomed. Many thanks in advance.
I am about to buy a Rolex 1603 vintage for USD 2000, I like it. Anyway my concern and I wonder if it is a good business as well. It is in a good condition as you see in the pics. The plexiglass has some damage and the seller will replaced it on his own Do you recomend me to acquire it ? or not. Thank you very much for your advice friends, Best regards an Merry xmas
