An Oddball With A Story
I just got a watch, a real oddball, but it fits perfectly with my collection. It's a pocketwatch - kind of...It's REALLY SMALL!! Just to show you HOW small, here it is with a 16s Hamilton 992E, and a 10s Elgin 546...Really, it's a wristwatch with no lugs, and a bow. Kind of funny, since nowadays so many watches seem to be pocketwatches with lugs. It's running a 19j, 13/0 sized Elgin 732 movement - one of the Durabalance series.Runs well, but needs a cleaning.It's reminiscent of the 'Nuns Watch' that Elgin sold back in the 40s and 50s - sterling silver case, white face, sweep seconds - but this is engraved for a man:'Herci to Myles, 6-8-62'. So, apparently a man's watch, despite its tiny size.I'd never heard the name 'Herci' before, so I googled it. The top 3 entries were in Croatian, but the fourth referred to a 'Herci Marsden' a former ballet dancer and now Artistic Director and Choreographer for the State Ballet of Rhode Island. Turns out, she and Myles Marsden, her then-husban

Brown straps - better with anthracite or silver dial?
Which is the better combo? I like my Tissot Power80 luxury so much I ordered one with an anthracite dial on a stainless bracelet. I'm trying to decide if I should switch the bracelet to the silver dial and the brown strap to the black dial or leave them as is (or as will be when the black one arrives).

No more Arabic number lume on Aquanaut 5167/A?? Please post your lume pics!
Hey guys,I'm on the fast track at acquiring my grail watch....the 5167/A. However, a local AD who hasn't had any inventory since the middle of 2012 indicated to me that newly produced 5167/A (after mid-year 2012) are NOT carrying Arabic number lume???Is this correct??One amazing characteristic of this watch that I truly appreciate is the AMAZING lume, far superior than any Rolex/Tudor I have owned.Could you guys post some lume shots of your 5167/A for me?? Thanks for your help on this issue, if it is true, I'm gonna have to track down an older 5167/A.Regards, David

Haven¡¯t worn the Bluesy in awhile and was contemplating mmaybe parting with it ... And so usually the blues are associated with Monday¡¯s but this is a different special kinda Blues... A nice Sangria to pair with it today ... Great combination... Falling in Love all over again with the iconic Rolex Blue Dial Sunburst Submariner ... It¡¯s such a special watch !!! I thought I was becoming bored of TT but this particular reference breaks all Boundaries and barriers!!!Rolex hit a grand slam with this reference when it was created ... Here¡¯s to you Rolex for one of the greatest Sub divers ever created and brought to life and to fruition !!! The iconic TT Blue Submariner watch !!!
