Buying my first Hamilton (X-wind)... a couple of questions for the experts...
Hey gang, I'm strongly considering a Hamilton Khaki X-Wind (steel case, yellow/cream-ish looking dial), and I have a couple of questions. First of all, I'm looking for a good recomendation on where to buy this watch. For some reason, there just doesn't seem to be anywhere around town (mall or otherwise) that carries Hamilton. I've seen a couple of good prices on Overstock and on the bay, but even those "power sellers" on the bay, can you really trust those auctions? Unless, of course, anyone has any stellar recomendations from someone they've done business with before, that would instill more confidence in me.The second question is, how are the straps on these X-Winds for those folks like myself with bigger wrists? The majority of my collection consists of watches on a steel bracelet, and even when purchasing Rolex, I've always had to add a link. Needless to say, I'm stupid when it comes to straps. new old stock?
As some of you may know, I bought a watch by the name of "Royale" from my watchmaker for $35. It says "Swiss made" on the dial and when I opened it up I was surprised to see it was a Baumgartner 866 one jewel manual wind movement. It says Swiss made on the movement and also says E. Gluck trading co. E. Gluck was founded in 1955. My watchmaker (who is Swiss) says it's new old stock. However, I don't know what he means by that. It looks like it's a late 50s early 60s and is in great condition. Is it from the 60s? It says "case made in hong kong" on the caseback. I was just wondering if it was vintage or vintage parts or something. I'm not sure what new old stock means

Omega Seamaster problem!!!
Dear Friends....I`m owner of a Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra (Co-axial , one barell) Today, deside to wear this watch after three months of comlete immobility.Before wear it , I winded it up about 40 turns.I went to friend`s house and sat there for two hours next to a sound box. Since then, my watch stopped working.The situation is this : when I move watch with my hand doing a circle, the second`s hand counts for 5 secs and stops.Is my watch magnitised?Now after two hours my watch running just fine!!!Any ideas????? Should I worry or not???Any opinions???Sorry for my English....Thanks in advance..
