I am considering adding this piece to my collection and would sell my Rolex GMT if I decide to go forward. I would appreciate any comments or thoughts folks have comparing these two pieces. I have several other Rolex pieces and two Patek's and am fond of both. Not convinced I will like the rubber strap as that seems a little unusual in an expensive piece like the 5164.Thanks for your feedback.

Anybody know anything about Tavannes wristwatches?
I've gotten a little off the internet - they are related to Cyma - and they were very prolific between the wars but that's about it. I've got this vintage Tavannes that I'd like to know more about; date of manufacture for one. It is keeping great time but needs to be serviced.Thanks!John

$98 an hour for part-time work and watches??
i have noticed a lot of posts, especially the first few in a thread, have words that are double underlined and when the cursor is placed and hovered over the word a pop-up screen is displayed. the most recent "link" has been for part-time work at $98 an hour. i unintentionally clicked the link and got an annoying screen which gave me a prompt after i tried to leave if i really wanted to leave. how do these advertisement links get inserted? what is next, advertisements to make something bigger or work better?

AT 8500 not jumping anymore...
I had sent my Aqua Terra to Omega last year as it was running very fast, but apparently not magnetized. It took almost three months to get it back. Once I received the watch I noticed that the crown didn't feel he same when setting the time, but everything was working so I didn't want to send it out again. Last night I went to wind and set the watch and all of a sudden the hour hand stopped jumping from hour to hour. It is now a smooth rotation, I know there is a problem. I'm planning on sending it back again today however I'm out of warranty at this point.... Bummer, really love this watch and I'd rather not be without it for so long again, not to mention the potential repair costs.

Vintage Omega question, anybody know which model this is?
Does this Omega looks authenic? Which model is this? Its likely to be over 30-40 yr old and never serviced. Its still running. And it doesn't have sapphire crystal.
