Thoughts on Alpha watches?
I know there are some intrinsic and subjective differences between more expensive and prestigious watches and watches such as the Alpha line.What I am wondering now is if there is much of a practical difference. How will the accuracy and longevity of a typical example of an Alpha compare to a similarly featured watch that will cost 10, sometimes 100 times as much?I'm seriously interested in an Alpha dual time jump minute automatic that I mentioned in a different post.Another thought is that for the price of well under $100.00, how much can you get hurt if it doesn't last as long? It seems like it would be cheaper to replace a $100 or less watch every few years than to get a more expensive watch serviced.I guess the real question in my ramblings is whether there is really any OBJECTIVE benefit to buying a nice hand finished watch and having it serviced every howevermany years versus buying a less than $100 watch and replacing it every howevermany years.Don't get me wrong - if I could

Watch winder for Seiko Divers Automatic
I am in need of a multi station watch winder for several auto wind wrist watches. I will be using the watch winder for a late 70's vintage Seiko 6309-7049 (recently restored by Ken Setser, All About Time Watches), a Seiko 7S26-0028, and a West End Sowan. I use the Seiko 7S26-0028 day to day, with the restored vintage 6309-7049 being the "Sunday Watch". I prefer to keep my watches "working", as I believe that the watch mechanism and lubricants, last longer than when just sitting in a drawer.Any information concerning this issue would be most welcome.

Hello, I was touring Ecuador a few years ago and I picked up a couple of nice Chabbot France watches. I have a birthday coming up and I would like to see If I can pick up another watch. I searched for this watch company to see if I can find a distributer but with no luck. Does anyone know the contact info for this company? I punched in "Chabbot reloj" and "Chabbot Watches" online and I found some images which lead me to some shady websites that promoted fake watches. Third time is a charm
Just got a new PP 3 days ago. DavidSW was kind enough to get me the new one I wanted in a few weeks. I like it more than the world time or 5711, both awesome watches, which lasted only days.
