I think it¡¯s time for the hard-core mechanical watch enthusiast to give their ¡°distant cousin¡± - quartz watches - a little more respect. I guess in my own way, I¡¯m as guilty as the next guy, when it comes to comparing mechanical watches to quartz watches. Looking for two watches; need advice.
Hello all, I'm not at all watch expert, but I've been looking for two watches for a few days now and am just overwhelmed with the number of options and just as importantly the number of "replica" sites there are. I'm hoping you can help me cut through the confusion and point me at some great watches.I'm looking for wrist watches, a daily wearer and a dress watch. My budget is up to around $3000.00 USD each.Critera:I'm looking for a skeleton watch and wouldn't mind if it had a tourbillon or even a minute repeater. I would like a second hand. I'm an engineer so I love to see the movements. I'm not too picky on the metals or bands, but I usually don't like gold and go for stainless/silver/black colors.It doesn't need to be a new watch, a functional and reliable vintage watch would be fine.Thanks in advance for your help!Atlas

Vintage Conny crystal replacement 'problem'
I wish to replace the crystal on my CL168.016 conny and have purchased a genuine PZ5111 and Bregeut type crystal removal tool. How much pressure should I be using on the tool? It seems incredibly tight and am concerned about scratching the case! Should it actually be accessed via the back of the case after removing movement?Thanks in advance
