Jack Shephard's Porsche Design Watch On Lost
Regular readers of mine know that I get a kick out of spotting watches in TV shows and movies. A regular viewer of Lost, I have always been curious to know what watch was being worn by Matthew Fox's character Jack Shephard. Of course, while on the island he does not wear a watch, but back in civilization in Los Angeles, he is always seen the watch watch. The show producers are loathe to give the watch much camera time. In fact, the only watch that was given attention was the Rolex Daytona that Jin was carrying as a business gift in season 1. But I digress. A few episodes ago (in the final season, maybe episode 3 or so) I was caught off guard as the camera gives Jack's wrist a closeup as he checks the time. Why the chronograph was running in the shot I don't know, but that glimpse was enough for me to spot the brand - Porsche Design.I still didn't know what model it was though. Hamilton Ventura Information
Hello,I hope someone here can help me out. I am in the U.K and have just bought my first Hamilton from an authorised U.K retailer.It is the Ventura model number : H24411732. I have a few questions about my watch and Venturas in general.My watch does not have any crystals on the face or lugs, however on the Hamilton site when i searched for my model (H24411732) it shows the Ventura with crystals despite their catalogue showing the watch (H24411732) without them. Could anyone explain why this might be?Also on my back plate I expected to find the model number engraved but instead it has H244110. Is this usual?I apologise for the questions but I hope someone could shed some light on this.Also is there a thread which details the different models/year of make of each Ventura Hamilton have produced?Thank youDave

Enjoying the new watch diet
I haven't gotten a new timepiece since February - that's four months, count 'em, four - and I find it delightful. As I've mentioned before, it has given me a chance to re-assess my stash and I'm enjoying the process.But I'm also enjoying the watches I already own. Just this week, I took a good look at my ancient Movado, learned to really appreciate my Omega Seamaster Professional all over again (love the red second hand) and savored my black dial Tudor Submariner when I put it on last night after wearing one of my Clercs all day.These pieces are all cool - at least to me (and that's all that counts) - so taking a break from buying has been fun as I consider the next direction I will take my collection.It's always good to appreciate what you already have!

PP Calatrava 5296G - Loud winding noise
Hi allMy friend just brought a PP Calatrava (exact model no is 5296G-001) with an open caseback to see the movment. The watch's winding mechanism is quite loud (i.e. everytime it spins, it makes the winding noise). You can hear it if you closed the door in your office (i.e. no need to put it right next to your ear). Is it normal to be that loud? Guys,I am pretty much sold on the pre ceramic GMT master pepsi bezel. The problem is, I will probably need to part with my Explorer, I intentionally bought the Explorer to flip it to other models in the future but I really bonded with my Explorer, I wish I could afford both of them but I can't as a flying student I can barley afford one of them...I would like to ask you guys, for a fair deal, how much would you say I need to add for a pepsi GMT from around 2000's?
