Mythbusters - watch forum style: break-in period
If you've been around watch forums for a while, you know there are questions that recur often. Many of them are almost like urban legends. Each Monday we'll start a thread on one of these myths and try to prove it, debunk it, or have fun debating it in the process. A few of our watchmakers will chime in also.The first topic is the break-in period. This has been tossed back & forth for years! It pops up on many forums and always brings arguments for both sides. I have seen it on a few watches, most notably my Breitling. Out of the box it gained 5 - 6 seconds a day, and after about a month it settled down to 3 or 4 seconds per day. Not all new watches do this though. So, what do you say: does your new watch need a few weeks to settle in? Post your experience & opinion.

Sub Went on an Adventure
Here's how the day starts....Standard morning except the kids don't have school so they are sleeping in. I get up and jump in the shower, some new bar of soap in there, smells nice. Seems it's going to be a good day. Hop out, dry off, start getting dressed and head to the bedroom for my wallet and whatnot. Go to the nightstand for my five day old Hulk, yep, it's not there. Slight panic sets in, but it has to be around here somewhere. I have a new carpet coming in a week or two so there have been samples floating around the house for a few weeks. I've been resting my watches on those at night, dumb I know but my watches appreciate it. Where my Hulk one rested there is a rock. Not any rock, but a paperweight rock with Dad You Rock painted on it from a father's day a few years ago.I love that rock, but it's not my Sub. I look around, it's not anywhere. Rolex BLNR on RubberB
Well after receiving the strap last week, and the burgeon tool, I managed to change the rubber strap on my Tudor Pelogas, as that is what i brought it with, too the bracelet, was a little tricky, but then found that the bracelet needed sizing.So a visit to my Ad was in order, Now as it was a little tricky for me, I decided to take the BLNR and strap with me to the dealer to see if they would change it for me.After doing the tudor, I asked if they would mind doing the BLNR for me, No of course not, will be a couple of minutes.Came out a happy chappy, feels good, now do I get one for the SubLVc?? with green stripe..HHHmmmmmDid try on the BB Blue while I was there....nice.
