I was wondering about the 3035/3130/3135 movements that Rolex makes. I know they are on house but, did they get the design from something else? Is it me or does it look a lot like the FHF (Fontmelon) 905?

New pants for an old friend
Timebender (Charlie) and myself recently each got a new Hammie and we both immediately replaced the straps that they came on with something else. (Great minds think alike)As it turned out I had an unused strap that I wasn't going to use and so did he.Being the diplomatic individuals that we are we traded straps and now are both happy.Charlie's watch came on a Canvas strap which I wanted for my Khaki Mechanical. It had been on a gray Nato which looked good but I can't seem to get comfortable with nylon Nato straps and the canvas,for me, gives the vintage military look that I want with this watch.I was stuck with a black leather strap but I prefer a brown strap with my black dialed military watches.So the black leather went to NC and the canvas came North!!What it wasWhat it is

Accident or something normal?
I just read this article about Philippe Dufour, I knew his work is impeccable here is not the problem, the problem is that for comparison they have put pics of movements from high end brands, and the one from Patek is just shameful finishing wise, I understand that not all Patek movements are finished to perfection and that some easily rival Dufour's finishing when it comes down to 500K plus models, but even for the lesser expensive Pateks is it possible that some can be sold like this??? Do you think this is a bad finished movement that passed through QC or is this normal finishing for let's say movements of their least expensive pieces? In any case that's why I never wanted to look at any movements I have owned with a loupe as I would be quite disappointed if I had such a finished movement. Finally my first Rolex!
Hi Guys i'm new been doing lots of reading & looking & finally pulled the trigger on a Explorer II 16570 with black dial D series. anyway just wanted ask a few questions.. The watch that i bought was complete papers booklets etc etc... the only thing that is missing is the box. being its my first Rolex i actually kind of want to own a Rolex box just to make my set complete. so what box do i need to get for a 2006 D series Explorer II 16570? Another question is any chance i could be lucky & get the 3186 movement on a 2006 D Series Explorer II? from reading i know the D series leaning towards to the older movement but hey i might be wrong i know some of you would say you need to open to see. but the watch is not on my hand yet so i'm just looking to see if if anyone had a D series 3186 movementcan't wait to get the watch to to accompany my Speedy Pro gonna post pictures when it here

Incoming - Custom Ceramic Daytona
Last August, I purchased a black face ceramic Daytona from an AD after a year wait. Beautiful watch but to me could be better. I contacted Les Artisans de Geneve to customize it, with a 6263 hand made face, vintage polishing, and new vintage hands. The goal was to keep as much as modern as possible with a vintage flavor. I understand many of you may have your own views of customizing an already fine time piece. The result though to me is stunning and I wanted to share it with the community.
