TW Steel TW5 wrist watches news:
I wrote about the new series of Perrelet Semi-Skeletonized Split-Seconds Chronograph watches on Haute Living. The interesting like obvious is skeletonized and is a rattrapante (split seconds chronograph). In doing so, Perrelet has given the line a very unique style and high value for the originality. Prices are between about $13,000 - $25,000. Read the full article on Haute Living here.
Greetings All- I thought we could have a cockpit (whether airplane, car, boat) + watch picture!! Here are mine
2010 was a good year for me, I cycled through many watches, some lasting weeks, others with permanent places in my collection. Some of my favorite additions include a vintage Stowa Chrono, Lum-Tec's M21, and Seiko's SARB035. While these are all great watches, I found myself wanting to take a step up and focus on higher quality watches in 2011 rather than quantity. To this end, I promptly made 2 acquisitions to open my year. First up, an early 90's serial Rolex Submariner 14060This pick up was totally out of character for me. I have never bought into the Rolex scene and frankly, harbored some less than flattering opinions about their owners (ashamedly). This all started to change with exposure and education, I started to become fascinated by their vintage models. I had to see for myself. I can't describe the feeling I had when first handling this watch, in a moment, it all 'clicked' and I finally got what all the fuss was about. Honestly, I struggled for a moment and thought to myself "
Got this watch for $20 dollars, I thought it was a super good deal because I've seen these watches go for 100 or more on ebay, has some small dings and scratches around the face and on the glass but appears to be working fine so far. I might put a different strap on it but not sure yet. What you guys think of it? IMG_0044.jpgIMG_0045.jpg
Happy holidays TRF members,I have been searching for my first Rolex watch that I can wear daily. As a banker and a lawyer, I wanted a dressy yet a casual watch that I can wear without worrying too much about getting scratches. The DJ 41 TT (the ¡°Wimbledon¡±) was what I wanted and purchased it at a great price while I was on a family vacation in Taiwan last week. This watch is very comfortable and I am satisfied with the purchase. My previous daily watch was a Tag Heuer Indy 500 and I still love the watch. It is a tank!!!I am happy to finally joined the TRF club!
