I had did a Google search the other day on a simple way to buff out scuffs and scratches on stainless steel watches. Mostly I found threads that required powered devices, which I neither have and I'm pretty dismal with powered tools anyway Finally I come across a discussion (it might well have been here, or not), but there was a sizable chorus singing the praises of Cape Cod Polishing Cloths and their ability to "work" minor miracles on watches.I ordered some ($14.49) and they came last night. While I don't have any before and after pictures, the two watches I buffed with the polishing clothes showed marked improvement. I have a seamaster ¡®speedy style¡¯ bracelet from a 2254 which needs servicing. The clasp is hard to close/open & one pusher is also very soft to press¡.I would also like to have all the pins changed/checked in it for peace of mind. I would like Omega to do the work for me¡The problem is that I am located on a small island with only one Omega AD (whose tech staff I don¡¯t really trust for reasons beyond this post). Could I send the bracelet directly to Omega Switzerland and what would you think would be an approximate cost ? Thanks for any advice !
Since I sold my 2 APs, I needed a daily beater. 5522 is a ways away as is the 5524. So got a call from my AD that he had a piece that my brother wanted but my bro decided to bail. So it looks like it's mine. It's not a Patek by rhymes with Gorex. :)Not a planned purchase but I'll take it.
