This one is another ss Seamaster that's a little less than normal - a 751 chronometer. To set the table, have a look at Desmond's article on these: snapdrive/files/47667...nSeamaster.pdfSince I sold the "C" cased caliber 751 gold capped Constellation to Scottie last year, I wanted to replace that movement. I really thought it would be another Connie in solid gold, but when the chance to buy this from a very reputable collector came up I had to pounce - especially at the more than fair price he asked. It's fully serviced as of last year, and just needs a little touch up on the case and hands which Sam will knock out when I take it to him in a week or so. Hey guys pretty new here to this forum but I've lurked around and its cooler then some other watch sites I've been to. I never signed up with them. By way of introduction I started my watch interest almost 20 years ago. It started by taking apart an old mechanical wrist watch I found in a drawer at my parents'. IIRC it was called Hirsch on the dial. "nurse watch" I got it running and then snapped a stem on the balance wheel taking it a part and putting it back together again IIRC. Back then in the Chicago Trib there would always be these ads for watches I'd never heard of w/B&W pictures. One was of a IWC with all these extra dials (portofino) it looked so cool I had y wife call the jeweler and ask about it. They said it was IIRC $8K w/t strap an $12K maybe with the bracelet. She asked how late they were opened on Saturdays! We didn't but a few weeks later I got a catalog from the same store in conjunction with American Express. Something in Lume Pearl?
Ok, is this even possible, something permanent in the lume pip pearl?Just picked up the watch from my AD today and here it is later in the day and I¡¯m really starting to study it. I had noticed what I thought was lint or a thread on the pearl earlier today, but didn¡¯t think much of it. Now home and trying to wipe it off and I think the sucker is somehow in the actual pearl. I¡¯m happy to have been able to walk in and buy a Hulk, so it¡¯s not going anywhere. I¡¯m just surprised to see this thing. I want to keep rubbing away on it, but I don¡¯t think it¡¯s going anywhere.Ever seen anything like this?
