1st Panerai purchase: Trying to decide
Hi folks,I'm a new member here, and like all of you, very interested in Panerai. I am finally taking the plunge and going to buy my first Panerai. Above all else, I like the simple design, "arabic numbers," and the overall feel a Panerai gives you. I can't tell you how many times I've looked at them in the store.OK! I am looking at the following models and would greatly appreciate everyone's educated Panerai knowledge on them to try and help me decide which model.PAM:111176177104It really comes down to whether or not I would want a manual wind or the one automatic I have on the list (104). It is the most expensive of the 4. The 176 is the cleanest looking. The 111 has the second hand and like someone said in another thread, makes it look more functional, with a bit more complication.And of course we have the 177, titanium. I like the greyish look of titanium..So what advice can you guys give me? Does it really just come down to personal preferance? Or should I definitely spend the litt

NATO or Zulu?
I have just acquired a 1973 British Army NATO spec W-10 tonneau cased Hamilton, and I'm trying to choose a strap.The watch, I think, warrants a pretty conservative military-style strap, and I have thoroughly checked out Crown & Buckle's offerings. I have decided on a non-stripe NATO G10 strap or a Zulu strap.I understand how a NATO strap works, but I don't understand the way the Zulu works. What's with the extra keepers, and what is their function? I do like the fact that the Zulu is a single piece, unlike the NATO, but I don't understand what the big deal is about the Zulu other than the extra keepers. Also, I have been cursed with fairly slim (NO, they're NOT spindly!) wrists, about 6.5 inches, and I don't like the idea of tucking back the extra strap on an 11 incher into the nearest keeper. Looks uncool, IMO. Do these straps come in shorter lengths? C&B's product descriptions are not clear.Any advice? Thanks.

why is it so hard to sell an Omega deville chronograph? such a nice watch but o have a grail in mind. i am a new watchaholic by the way. i noticed only 3 Omegas sell. SMP, Speedy and PO.

Fluctuations in used Rolex prices?
I know there's been lots of talk about the astronomical prices of SS sports watches on the used market these days. The reasons for the increases seem to be partly rational, i.e. permanent/temporary freezes on production of certain models, the Basel effect, etc. Some of it seems to be due to hive mind, speculation, and collective panic.I'm fairly new to the Rolex game, so I was wondering if those with some institutional memory can pipe in as to whether used prices tend to be cyclical and we can expect them to come down a bit after Basel, or whether they are likely to head inexorably upward.Any opinions?

3 watches, 3 continents - no more rolex for me
With a new watch box in for Christmas I got the collection together for a small group snap. These represent half of the Collection with the other half covering, Complications & other brands.In looking at the Rolex however it struck me that the expression I’m done is often used on TRF however my Rolex journey is well and truly over and I thought I’d share the snap on TRF.The DD2 was bought from a certain DavidSW in the US and will soon reach its 5th year birthday. It’s the oldest watch in my collection and a promised heirloom to my daughter. It will never leave the collection. It’s still the most comfortable watch I own and I cannot remember lusting after a watch so much when it was released. The SD4k was purchased in Asia, it’s my daily go to watch and promised to my son on graduation from University. It will be with me for 3 more years but the intention is it will go to him with a short but meaningful history and both noteable and relatable memori
