Chronoswiss Sold to Swiss Investor
Munich-based watchmaker Chronoswiss has been sold to Swiss entrepreneur Oliver Ebstein, 37, and his wife Eva Maria. The Lucerne-based owners are new to the watch industry, and they have said that Chronoswiss will be owned by them privately, rather than through their investment company Meru AG. “Chronoswiss is to be retained as an independent family. It is our great pleasure to introduce ourselves here to get involved in the long term, and sooner or later to direct the company itself. We want to continue the tradition of using high-quality mechanical watch components. Therefore, we look forward to working together with all employees on the success of Chronoswiss,” said Oliver Ebstein.Former Chronoswiss managing director Pete Josef Burgmayer remains on board, though Sigrun Schilling-Heinen will not continue with the firm. Bracelet for a SKX173?
Seiko Gurus:I'm thinking about picking up a SKX173 for my trip to Tokyo in about 8 weeks, as well as for general water purposes. I don't know that I'll want the rubber strap full time though. Does Seiko also make a good bracelet for this watch which is of the same quality as the Seiko Monster watches? I think I've seen watches in this family with an Oyster style bracelet which looks like it's not of the greatest quality, which doesn't excite me.

Speedmaster of some kind. Where to begin?
Hi All,I've been bitten by the Speedmaster bug. I've acquired a few Rolex pieces from trusted sellers on TRF, and will likely be doing the same to acquire a nicely used Speedmaster. Only problem is, while I'm fairly educated on Rolex models, I have no idea where to begin with Omega. Pricing seems to vary wildly for a used Speedmaster (between $1600 - 4800USD). I think my budget is around 1,500-3000. A little help would be appreciated.1. What models to consider? (I'm not a fan of the newer 42mm size, so vintage might be best)2. Is my budget reasonable?3. Help deciding on which Milgauss
I'm looking to purchase my first Rolex and am drawn to the Milgauss for a variety of reasons even though it is not usually the most popular choice especially as a first Rolex watch. I was fortunate enough that my local AD had both the blue and black dial in stock, so I was able to compare the two. I'm still debating between blue or black dial, but am slightly leaning towards the black dial GV. This is where my question comes in. What are your thoughts on the original style black dial GV with the dual color lume vs. the new style black dial GV with the single color lume. Also, does anyone happen to have seen both and have an opinion on brightness and longevity of each?Finally, I realize that the dual-color lume would require buying second hand as it is no longer made. I'm guessing that since it is pushing 10 years old, it would be due for a servicing immediately upon buying unless I was fortunate enough to find one that just got serviced? Any difference in buying M/V/G/Random serial?
