Tudor 79440P wrist watches news:
The Jaquet Droz brand has made a name for itself by combining fine watchmaking and elaborate mechanical inventions. Now Jaquet Droz has turned its attentions to the capital city of watchmaking. With the new Bird Repeater Geneva, the brand has adapted its automaton-bearing minute repeater to include some of Geneva’s landmarks. On the Bird Repeater Geneva’s dial, timekeeping takes a backseat to grand effects. Most prominent on the dial are the bird automata, which are hand-painted and hand-crafted in gold. There are two fully grown goldfinches: the one on the left leans forward to feed its young, while the one on the right moves its head and extends and retracts its wings. In the gold nest between the birds, two hatchlings sit on either side of an egg. The egg cracks open, revealing another baby bird inside.?Meanwhile, the painted gold dial behind the birds displays recognizable symbols of Geneva. The nest sits on ?le Rousseau, an island in Lake Geneva. On the right of the di

Calling all Benrus fans......You probably know I'm a big fan of 50's Benrus Wristalarms. I wear two constantly, gave another to my Best Man, and have two which are going in to the hospital soon. Well, I picked up one recently on the bay. Very unusual. RG case, and orange dial. Never saw a RG case in this vintage, or an orange dial. Received the watch and was pleasantly surprised. Nice case, (scratched up crystal), a very unusual copper colored dial, and it keeps perfect time. I was really wondering if it was a redial until I saw another Benrus on another site with the same colored dial. Anyone here ever seen a copper/orange colored Benrus dial???
Just had my 1946 Valjoux 72C Breitling Datora 785 triple date serviced, thanks Craig Chronodeco for doing a great job on it, highly recommended for vintage Breitlings!
My Seamaster Professional 300m (2531.80) hadn't been getting much wrist time in the past year for whatever reason. I travel a lot, and always wear my Rolex GMT Master II (16710 with a Pepsi bezel) when on a business trip. I like to easily see my home time zone at a glance without thinking. At home, I generally wear my Seiko Marinemaster (SBDX001) as a daily wearer. It has a great wrist presence and wears nicely for its large size. I felt nostalgic for the Seamaster, and have been wearing it the past two weeks while on vacation. I had it last serviced by Omega three years ago, and it's keeping great COSC time. I set it to the atomic clock and have been checking it daily at the same time. It's running at +.01 sec / day. The 1120 movement is simply amazing. I love this watch and will never sell it.
