Watch makers can have a good time playing with colors and materials. A typical favorite among watch designers is sharp transitions from one material, color or texture to another. This often yields in an interesting look appealing to the eye due to the constant contrasts. Lights appear lighter, and dark colors appear deeper. This is mostly due to the human eye, which seems to be drawn to such complexities of form.A particular favorite of mine is the contrast between matte black and polished steel. The austere look of the black works to immediately enhance the sheen of the polished silver colored steel. This effect is somewhat lost when the black itself is always glossy. Omega SMP 300m: Real or Fake
I'm wondering if I made a mistake: I bought a Seamaster Pro 300m 2250.80.00 off eBay. What wasn't advertised was there were no boxes, cards, manual, nada - just the watch. I've had one before and it looks real, but a couple of things came up as red flags. first it was advertised to fit an 8 wrist (I have a 7 1/2 and it's tight). This could be an honest mistake, so I'll that one go. Then I notice that after wearing it for a day, it was stopping when I took it off and let it sit for a few hours. It's supposed to have a 44 hour power reserve. Then I started looking at the back and there is no serial number. This could have been filed off as grey market dealers were doing that for a while.No red dot but I don't know if they were on this model. I don't recall from the one I used to own (that came from Watchmaxx and had everything but the warranty card). Also, the little imprinted diver helmet or whatever is not there. I saw another 300m on eBay that didn't have this emblem, so again, I don'

Omega 2599.80 is coming back to me
Well guys, my very first swiss automatic watch was an Omega, and specifically it was the 2599.80. I recently sold it to fund my Breitling CA.I still miss that watch and I've come across an opportunity to purchase another one in mint to perfect condition - boxes, papers and red dot intact.Its on its way back to me and I'll post pictures when I receive it in a week.Let the waiting and nail biting begin.
