I want to start collecting watches, where do I start? +'A CHALLENGE'
Ok,you have browsed, and you have lurked, now you want to sell the 'stamp' collection and start collecting those lovely mechanical watches, that 'tick, look and feel' like a Rolls Royce. But where do you start 'ones' collection.My advice is chose an area and certainly in the beginning stick to it, rushing around like a 'headless' chicken may award you a lot of watches, but in the end will you 'love' them? If not, you may have chosen poorly.collecting can be split into some nice catagories, and within those catagories a great range of watches can be purchased both easily and cheaply.So first set a budget, maybe $150 or $300, but stick to it. Just read an article in a local paper about the Stephen Palmer timepiece going up for auction. It is a PP Grand Complication # 97912, and will be auctioned at Christies on June 11 at the sale of "Important watches". Our town is named after him. Even though my watch is a "generic" Patek, I am surprised that two of these watches were in the same small town. The article states that only 10 such watches were produced. I have no idea if that is correct or not.Expected value>$1.2M-$1.8M.

New to AP with a Diver and loving it! Thanks Seregin's in SF!
I have been going to Seregin's in San Francisco for over 8 years now and slowly been building up a small collection(I'll get a post of the collection up soon). I do not own an AP, but I have admired them for several years now. I got a call from Seregin¡¯s letting me know he had something special that I may be interested in, so I had to check it out. It turned out to be the AP Diver in SS. Pictures are nice, but in person this is even more of a beauty! As you all are already aware in person there is so much character and brilliance that really make this model stand out. I knew as soon as I saw it I had to have it. I¡¯ve had it almost a week now and I¡¯m loving every minute of it. No regrets and looking forward to expanding the collection in the AP direction.
