U-Boat 1883 wrist watches news:
I have a Breitling Crosswind and a Ball Engineer. According to the Orbita website, the Breitling requires 800 turns per day and the Ball is 600 turns. What is the best watch winder?Saw a nice Wolf Designs dual watch winder for $600 on Amazon but reading the description, it says it only does 600 turns per day. Is that enough for the Breitling? Is the Orbita Sparta that much better?
I had the opportunity to meet with the inventor of a watch that guarantees to keep time within one second of exact time. The patent (#5,375,105) claims that the watch keeps time with an error of less than 1/4 of 1 second per month. It also allows the owner to adjust the quartz movement themselves without having to send it off to a repairer. It's a pretty amazing little watch. We plan on exhibiting the prototype of the watch as part of the Quartz Revolution part of our Grand Complications exhibit in 2010. Right now the inventor is looking for a reputable watch manufacturer interested in producing production examples of the watch. Any watch brands come to mind?I'll post some images of the watch when I receive them.Noel
Now I just need to patiently find an OEM deployment clasp, rubber band, leather strap and plots to change this beauty looks in minutes depending of the occasion
Hey everyone, I'm a young professional living in Vancouver, and after 12 years of post secondary training I have finally made the transition from being in school to earning an income. I am so excited to finally join the horology club and get my first timepiece. With that being said, I was looking at getting an Omega Ploprof and was wondering if there are any Omega ADs (and specific sales-people) the community would recommend. Thanks for any help that you can provide!
I just found this watch in the Patek catalog. It looks like a beautiful watch and a total grail watch.By grail watch I mean I will never have one but still.Has anyone heard of this, seen reviews, or own one?Does anyone one else think that this a pretty awesome watch?IMG_3428.jpg.patek/en/mens-...ions/5374P-001
