U-Boat 1846 wrist watches news:
One place that you don¡¯t want to skimp on is your desk chair, especially when your job requires lots of sitting. One such job is watch maker. Many watch makers sit of uncomfortable benches. Why? Well, because they don¡¯t think too much about it. For generations watch maker desks have more or less stayed the same, but the advent of the ergonomic desk chair is relatively new in comparison. So you have a degree of ¡°that is how it is done¡± mentality. It doesn¡¯t need to be that way, and it is not always that way. At Seiko¡¯s high end watch movement manufacture location in Japan, the watch makers are blessed with comfortable Herman Miller ergonomic chairs. This was a deliberate decision at the company, because it was clear that workers need to be happy and healthy. Seiko admitted that while outfitting the work benches with the chairs was more expensive, it proved to be worth it. I didn¡¯t see anyone complain. I have a Seiko 5 that I have had from new.Looking up the serial number I see that it was made in November 1979.Does this qualify as a "vintage" watch now?The watch runs well, it needs to be serviced again soon but I have never had any problems with it, apart from the fact that the original bracelet kept biting chunks out of my wrist from time to time. The bracelet broke a few months ago and I got a replacement from a jewellers. Heresy to purists but I needed to get a new one and was sadly ignorant at the time that genuine Seiko bracelets were still available. I don't think I could have afforded one though looking at the listings on ebay anyway.
Saw from another forum that Gerald Genta passed away. A great designer who left he legacy with iconic designs such as the AP Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus
weak attempt to copy Aquanaut and/or Nautilus line of PP?I really like the regular Polo series and appreciate the value of Piaget though this updated range a bit strange to me https://monochrome-watches/opini...l-specs-price/What do you think?
Does anybody have one? Any thoughts on this versus a 372?
